Resident Evil Village Fan Shows Off Mother Miranda Cosplay

One dedicated Resident Evil Village fan has brought the game’s ominous Mother Miranda to life, thanks to their highly detailed cosplay. Mother Miranda is one of the bosses that protagonist Ethan Winters faces in 2021’s Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil Village is the 10th mainline entry and the latest non-remake game in the survival horror franchise. While Resident Evil Village featured a first-person perspective at launch, it received a positive reception and commanded a notable sales performance as well. Apart from some of Village‘s strong points like graphical fidelity, certain charismatic characters—such as Lady Dimitrescu—have also contributed to the game’s popularity. One such key character from the Capcom-developed title is Mother Miranda, the head of a mysterious cult and Ethan Winters’s nemesis.

Replaying Resident Evil Village is a lot more entertaining with a whole host of mods to change up the character models and gameplay.

Adding to the list of high-quality fan portrayals of popular Resident Evil characters, Reddit user Snefrid_Ralfina recently cosplayed as Mother Miranda and wowed the horror game’s community. Starting from the masked boss’s glittery golden ornaments, studded with colorful stones, all the way to her iconic black feathers, the Resident Evil Village enthusiast put together a very accurate Mother Miranda costume. Their poses in the pictures further replicated the mystique surrounding the cult leader. In the comments, they credited their photographer for how well the pictures of the Resident Evil villain’s cosplay turned out.

Naturally, the realistic cosplay of Mother Miranda drew a lot of attention from Resident Evil fans, with many of them complimenting Snefrid_Ralfina’s efforts. On one hand, some fans praised the authenticity of the cosplay, saying, “I thought that those are [sic] screenshots from the game.” On the other hand, certain Resident Evil Village players highlighted the impressive details of the overall look, commending the “intricate” designs of the mask and other accessories. Another user admitted that it was “nice” to see fans recreating the looks of Village characters other than the Dimitrescu family members.

Following the immense success of the Resident Evil 4 remake in 2023, Capcom has already confirmed the development of the next game in the long-running series. While the title of the forthcoming Resident Evil game isn’t public yet, the project is revealed to be helmed by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard director Kōshi Nakanishi. According to a recent leak, Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine are expected to return to the rumored Resident Evil 9 game, starring as the main playable characters. Judging by the series of Resident Evil 9 leaks in recent months, more official news may be released soon by the Japanese developer itself.
