Black Friday is fast approaching and with just nine days to go, some of the bigger players in the video game industry are starting to confirm their plans for the biggest sale event of the year. That now includes PlayStation which has confirmed it will be discounting DualSense controllers, putting some of its recent releases on sale, and most important of all, cutting the price of PS Plus for a limited time.
PlayStation confirmed some of its Black Friday plans in a blog post published on Wednesday, confirming its sale will begin this Friday, November 22, a full week before Black Friday arrives. The sale will run from this Friday through to December 2, 2024, which is Cyber Monday, the day on which Black Friday weekend traditionally comes to a close.

Some of the details surrounding what exactly will be on sale, and how much it will be discounted, remain vague. However, a handful of images included in the blog post have confirmed some of what will be on sale and how much it will be discounted. DualSense controllers, for example, will be available directly from PlayStation for 25 percent off, bringing the price of the cheapest options down to $57.

DualSense Controllers, PS Plus, And Lots More Will Be Discounted From November 22
Also confirmed via the PlayStation Blog is a hefty discount on PS Plus. New subscribers who commit to Plus for a year can save as much as 30 percent on the service. Perfect if you signed up during last year’s Black Friday sale and haven’t re-upped as you’ll be able to let that 12-month subscription lapse and then sign up again, getting Plus for 30 percent less than most other people have paid for it.
It’s not all bad news for those of us whose subscription endings don’t perfectly align with Black Friday weekend. Even if you are already subscribed to PS Plus, those with Essential will be able to upgrade the remainder of their sub to Extra for 25 percent off, or all the way up to Premium for the full 30 percent discount also being offered to new and lapsed subscribers.
There will be a lot more PlayStation stuff available for less starting this Friday across PlayStation Direct, PlayStation’s gear store, and third-party retailers. Star Wars Outlaws and Spider-Man 2 are mentioned in the blog post, as are the PS5’s Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds. The earbuds, in particular, have been a very popular accessory since their release in 2023 despite the lofty price point, so expect them to sell fast when on sale, even if the discount is minimal.
