If players want to get their hands on the free DRI-11 Beamsmasher in the Black Ops 6 Zombies map Terminus, then they are going to need to put on their thinking caps and solve a math puzzle that involves a touch of algebra to impress their friends, Strauss, and Peck.

Black Ops 6 Zombies: Terminus Main Quest Guide
Players must fight the undead horrors and experiments that are stopping their escape from Terminus Island in this Black Ops 6 Zombies main quest!
While players can skip the math puzzle step in Black Ops 6’s Terminus map by bribing Peck for the answers, they can keep their 5,000 Essence and solve the equation themselves, and here are the steps that players need to take in order to solve this puzzle.
How to Get the Math Puzzle on Terminus
To start, players are going to need to actually activate the math puzzle. To do so, interact with three laptops found around Terminus, and they can be found below:
- Outside the Communications building by the railings and metal fence.
- Outside the Storage Area just after the Interrogation Room where Quick Revive is found.
- Outside the Docks by the stairs before heading beneath the Sea Tower.
Make sure Pack-a-Punch is turned on, and purchase the Dead Wire Ammo Mod. From the Bio Lab, take the Inclined Lift up and use the Dead Wire weapon to shoot an electric panel inside the room that’s visible as they navigate up the lift. Then, look right to shoot a second panel, and then the third is behind Pack-a-Punch between Communications and the Storage Area. Now, loop around to the Living Quarters where above the AMP is the fourth electric box. Now, in the Rec Yard while facing the Research Office, shoot the fifth and final electric box to open the doors.
Enter into the Research Office and to the left, there will be a zombie that needs to be killed to acquire the EMF Fob. Pick this up and then take it to the Sea Tower and interact with the briefcase on the right of Elemental Pop to acquire the Multiphasic Resonator. Now, with these two items, return to the Research Office and interact with the computer terminal twice, which will reveal three yellow sticky notes, each with its own symbol with an X, Y, and Z.
The math equations and the symbols are the same every game, but each game the symbol that players have will change.
Math Puzzle Symbols Translated
The image above shows each symbol and the numerical value of each symbol. This will remain consistent for every game, and now players can use this image to see what symbols they have in their own game. However, if players want to solve the meanings themselves, then all they need to know is that the row (left numbers) is the first digit and the column (bottom numbers) is the second digit. For instance, the top right symbol, the circle, would be 0, as it’s in the row next to 0 and the column next to 0.
How to Solve the First Math Equation
The first math equation is: 2X + 11
Here’s the solution:
- Times 2 by the value of X (2 x X) so for us that would be 2 x 22, which is 44
- Add 11 to the value (for us that would be 55)
- That’s the first set of numbers for the code
How to Solve the Second Math Equation
The second math equation is: (2Z + Y) – 5
Here’s the solution:
- Times 2 by the value of Z (2 x Z) so for us that is 0, since our Z is a 0.
- Add the value of Y (in our case 21) to the value of 2 x Z (for us that’s 21)
- Minus 5 from the total number (for us that’s 16)
- That’s your answer for the second code
How to Solve the Third Math Equation
The third math equation is: |(Y + Z) – X|
Here’s the solution:
- Add the values of Y and Z (in the image above that would be 21)
- With the total number (21) minus the value of X (22) to receive the answer (-1)
- If the answer is a positive number, that’s the final code
- If the answer is a negative number, then simply make it positive and ignore the minus and that’s the final code
This is because the “|” symbol means Absolute Value, and the Absolute Value of a negative number is the positive number.
Once players have input the code, they will receive a confirmation on the screen as well as a speech from Peck. Players then have to wait until the next round for the Janus P.A. System to speak ”
Multiphasic Resonator calibrated. Target located. Loading coordinates.
” which will then showcase the island players must go to to progress the
free Beamsmasher quest
