Silksong's Release Window Seemingly Narrowed Down By Game Showcase

Summary

  • A company called ACMI has hinted that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be playable at its Game Worlds exhibition this September, alongside several already-released video games.
  • It strongly implies that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch before this date, narrowing down the release window to within six months.
  • It also lines up with a previous claim from an insider called Exstas1s, who claimed Team Cherry has told Microsoft to prepare for a Game Pass launch in June.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming in 2025. There are some non-believers out there, but Team Cherry breaking radio silence and confirming Nintendo’s initial 2025 release date reveal has all but convinced me that this is the year for Silksong. All we have to do now is wait for the sweet, sweet release date, and an Australian game exhibition called Game Worlds may have given us our first clue.

First noticed by Reddit user TomNook5085, a company called ACMI recently announced an upcoming video game exhibition called Game Worlds, which is an event that people can travel to and play various builds of already released games such as World of Warcraft and The Sims. It’s essentially a video game museum that gives you an idea as to how games were made.

ACMI announced the exhibition with a new video on their official YouTube channel, in which we see someone interacting with a computer. At the 40-second mark, various pop-ups begin to flash on screen, one of which mentions a bunch of games which will presumably be featured at Game Worlds. For the briefest of flashes, Hollow Knight: Silksong can be seen in the bunch.

To add to that, an announcement post by ACMI on its own website states that Game Worlds will feature a “highly anticipated Australian title for 2025”, and I don’t need to tell Silksong fans that Hollow Knight: Silksong developer Team Cherry is based in Adelaide, Australia. With both of these little hints combined, it seems almost certain Silksong will be playable at Game Worlds.

Now, what does that mean? It’s worth taking with a pinch of salt, but Silksong is featured alongside nothing but already-released games, which implies Silksong will have launched before this event takes place this September. If that’s the case, that narrows down Silksong’s release date to within the next six months.

It’s an exciting thought, especially since we’ve been without Silksong news for years. It also lines up with previous comments from insiders, as it was claimed last month by an insider called Exstas1 that Team Cherry had apparently told Microsoft to prepare for a Game Pass launch in June. It’s worth keeping hopes in check, but it’s looking pretty likely.
