Gege Akutami Reveals Who Yuta Okkotsu Ends Up With

Jujutsu Kaisen ended rather recently and fans finally got to witness the end to the phenomenal story of powerful sorcerers that Gege came up with. In a series such as Jujutsu Kaisen, fans expected most of their characters to meet tragic ends and perish by the end. Of course, some characters did perish by the end of the series but quite surprisingly, not many fell in the final arc.

Despite Sukuna using all his strength, only a handful fell in the final arc, and even among those who fell, some were actually rescued. This opened up room for some characters to receive good endings, and that also includes Gojo’s very own protege, Yuta Okkotsu. In fact, Yuta’s ending was so good that he even got settled down with a particular romantic interest at the end of the story.

For Yuta, Shinjuku Showdown was a massive operation where he tested his resolve by going all out for the very first time. Not only did Yuta face off against and successfully kill Kenjaku in this part of the story, but at the same time, fans also got to see him clash against Sukuna, the King of Curses, shortly after his battle against Gojo. Yuta did extremely well against Sukuna, opening the path to beating him on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, complications caused by Megumi led to Yuta losing the battle, and just like Gojo, he too was beaten — being cut in half by Sukuna.

Thankfully for him, Rika was able to keep him alive and Ui Ui was able to take him to Shoko, who ended up stitching his body up. Yuta’s resolve was further tested when he switched to Gojo’s body to fight Sukuna once again, making use of Kenjaku’s body swap, and he certainly did well in this clash too. Unfortunately, his cursed technique burnt out before he could actually beat Sukuna, and eventually, it was thanks to Rika that he was rescued.

Yuta And Maki Have Two Grandchild In JJK’s Epilogue

Fans know that Yuta survived Shinjuku Showdown and even ended up back in his original body following the swap with Gojo. Years later, it was revealed to the fans that Yuta had successfully become the acting head of the Gojo Clan, which was a massive step forward for him. This is when Yuta kept Panda in his storage facility as he had finally started to slow down operations and become obsolete as a cursed doll.

In the year 2080, Yuta was revealed to have a big family. His two grandchildren were shown to the fans, and although the names of the children weren’t revealed, fans clearly know who they belong to. Yuta’s granddaughter looks like an exact copy of him, while the grandson looks exactly like Maki and Megumi. Clearly, Yuta and Maki, who were shown to have great chemistry in JJK, ended up together and started a family at the end of the series. Fans didn’t get to see either Yuta or Maki in the epilogue, but just one look at the grandchildren was enough for the fans to know that they ended up together.

Hopefully, Jujutsu Kaisen will get another epilogue someday where fans can see Yuta and Maki together. It is also possible that Gege will comment on their relationship at some point later down the line, and fans would be absolutely delighted to hear that from the author himself. For now, fans simply have to be happy knowing that the two started a family together.
