With Amazon’s Big Spring Sale in full swing, there are tons of great deals out there. Monopoly fans in particular have a plethora of offers to choose from. But our favorite is easily seeing the Monopoly House of the Dragon Edition having its price slashed down to just around $10.
There are a lot of differences between the House of the Dragon Edition and your standard Monopoly board. If you’re a fan of the Game of Thrones franchise, the uniqueness of this set, combined with its 14% discount, makes it a no-brainer purchase for Monopoly fans who love to imagine dominating coin in Westeros.

What To Expect In House Of The Dragon Monopoly
The board, of course, is completely themed around the world of HBO’s House of the Dragon. Community Chest (the Targaryen sigil) and Chance (a dragon skull) cards are labeled as Fire & Blood and Ash & Bone here. All the purchasable spots on the board are castles, cities, or various other landmarks from locations throughout Westeros and Essos. And instead of houses and hotels, you’ll populate properties with dragon eggs and dragons. Because, apparently, five dragon eggs make for one actual dragon.
As far as tokens go, each of the six options is themed around the high houses of Westeros. Choose what you’d like when you play, but anything other than House Black is sacrilege, in my opinion. Here’s a breakdown of the included families and the tokens representing them:
- House Targaryan: A three-headed dragon breathing flames.
- House Hightower: A stone white watchtower with a fire on the top.
- House Velaryon: A seahorse.
- House Lannister: A golden roaring lion.
- House Strong: A hand resting on a coat of arms.
- House Royce: Black iron studs on bronze, bordered with runes.
There’s no cash in Westeros, of course. The House of the Dragon series takes place in a historical era where only coins are used as currency. So the Monopoly House of the Dragon Edition utilizes Targaryan dragon-themed money instead to match the universe it’s portraying. The set includes 102 pieces. And just as a typical Monopoly game states, the last player with the remaining coins will rule all of the Seven Kingdoms.
It’s not just the board and pieces that are impressive, though. Hasbro went out of its way to make the Monopoly House of the Dragon box impressive, too. It features sculptured embossing with a spot UV gloss that makes the design pop. So even when it’s not in use, the cool Monopoly set will look impressive just hanging out decoratively on a shelf.
Hasbro’s recommended playing age for the Monopoly House of the Dragon Edition is 17 and up.
Monopoly is always a great choice among friends and family. We may have to wait until Season 3 for the next big battle on HBO, but you can bring the war to your tabletop right now. If your crew is into Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, the Monopoly House of the Dragon Edition is, without a doubt, going to be a fan favorite. Pick it up during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale while it’s impressively listed at just around $24.
