How Long Does It Take To Complete Bleach: Rebirth Of Souls?

It’s been a long time since Bleach has had its own dedicated video game on consoles, but that’s finally changed thanks to the recent launch of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, which adapts the early part of the series into a 3D fighter.

Learn the ins and outs of Bleach’s protagonist!

With Rebirth of Souls notably only covering three of the anime and manga’s arcs, Substitute Soul Reaper, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo, you might be wondering just how long it’s going to take. Read on to find out just how in-depth it goes.

How Many Chapters Are There?

Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is split between five different chapters, with the first covering the Substitute Soul Reaper arc, the second covering the Soul Society Arc, and the last three covering everything that happens with the Arrancars, Visored, and Hueco Mundo leading up to the final fight with Aizen.

Each chapter is filled with missions, called nodes, that are either playable fights with a variety of characters or lengthy cutscenes explaining the story. Some of the game’s nodes are optional, while others are mandatory to progress through the campaign and reach the end of each chapter and arc.

The story mode is mostly free of filler, but Chapter 3’s Visored Arc has a bunch of dedicated side stories that are mostly inconsequential to the main story. They’re worth watching if you’re a fan and want to see more of the characters, though.

How Long Does It Take To Beat?

If you’re aiming to complete every mission and watch every cutscene (which you likely will if you’re a newcomer), each chapter in Rebirth of Souls takes around five to six hours to complete. Before even diving into the online modes, side content, or versus battles, it took me around 27 hours to reach the end of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls.

That’s pretty lengthy for an anime game that’s only covering a few arcs of its series, but it’s worth noting that most of that length comes from how many cutscenes there are. If you already know the story of Bleach back-to-front, you can skip most of the scenes and save yourself a considerable amount of time in each chapter.

How Long Will It Take To 100 Percent Complete?

Once you’ve completed the surprisingly stacked story mode in Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, there’s still a ton of side content for you to get through if you’re aiming for 100 percent completion. The biggest of these are the Side Stories, which are unlockable side missions that focus on the game’s playable characters.

Before you can even play these Side Stories, you’ll need to unlock them by completing specific tasks in missions, which can add a fair bit of time if you have to go back and replay missions. There are a lot of these Side Stories to get through in Rebirth of Souls and most of them take around half an hour or so to complete. Completing all of these could easily add another ten hours onto your playtime.

Side Stories are the main bit of extra content in Rebirth of Souls, but there’s also a mission mode with three difficulties and a whole online mode that could take a lot of your time if you choose to get involved with it. All in all, to 100 percent complete Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, you’re looking at anywhere between 40 and 50 hours.
