A X Brutal X Battlefield
Episode 51
Episode 51 of Hunter x Hunter shows the Phantom Troupe mourning Uvogin’s death in their own way. They caused mass destruction while Chrollo played a symphony for Uvogin.
The fascinating thing showcased through this episode was The Phantom Troupe’s love for their comrade. They were portrayed as cold-hearted killers who didn’t have a shred of feelings, but you see them truly sad and angry throughout the episode.

Charge X And X Invade
Episode 111
Episode 111 of Hunter x Hunter starts the long-awaited palace invasion. While we were expecting Netero to show up, he brought Zeno along with him. To top it off, Zeno launched his Dragon Dive, surprising both the enemy and the viewers.
This episode is especially memorable because it starts one of the greatest arcs in anime history with a bang. The suspense until Zeno’s reveal and the sudden Dragon Dive all play into the greatness of this episode. Netero calling the powerful Pitou a “little ant” is the cherry on top.

This episode showcases Gon’s unhinged character. Very small glimpses of this Gon were shown throughout the Hunter x Hunter anime, but this is where he lets it out. Beyond Netero, not to be confused with Isaac Netero, is one of Hunter X Hunter’s most enigmatic figures. We try to find some answers in this article.
Of course, the fight is great. But what sets this episode apart is the ending. Meruem’s realization that he was in checkmate all along, combined with the eerie artwork that transforms Netero into a demon-like figure, makes this episode one of Hunter x Hunter’s finest. However, none of this would have nearly the same impact without Togashi developing Meruem the way he did.

However, all Pitou can think of is how relieved she is because Gon will not be able to use this power again.
You could make a two-hour-long video dissecting this episode, and it still wouldn’t do the episode justice. Not to mention the incredible soundtrack and animation that brought Episode 131 to life. Some may interpret it as some exciting or stellar moment, but it’s a very sad and horrifying episode. Regardless, this episode is a masterclass in storytelling.

As expected, the best episode of Hunter x Hunter also comes from its best arc. Both Meruem and Komugi saying that they were born for this exact moment is enough to bring tears to almost anyone’s eyes. The episode is a combination of beautiful writing and an incredible soundtrack.
