Overall, the main character in The King’s Avatar is strong; there is no intense training arc that transforms him from an underdog to a hero. Instead, he is powerful, and stays powerful the entire time. Oh, and the battle scenes have phenomenal animation.

Next up, we have Dragon Raja. This show combines the fantastical with our modern world, following along a high schooler who was accepted to a mysterious college that he didn’t apply for. Based on the name of the show, it’s safe to say that it involves dragons.
Does this name sound vaguely familiar? There is also a mobile game of the same name, but the two are not related in any way.
Dragon Raja does a wonderful job of combining this fantasy world with a college filled with dragon-hunting students. In terms of 2D Donghua, Dragon Raja is definitely one of the best watching-options out there.

The Daily Life of the Immortal King is another Donghua that combines the fantastical with everyday life. In this show, Wang Ling is pretty much a genius with an unfathomable amount of power. Of course, the hardest challenge he will have to face is being a high school student.

The Young Brewmaster’s Adventure is the first 3D animated show on our list, taking place in a historical setting. If you are used to 2D animation, then this may be a bit jarring at first, but after a while, you’ll grow use to this video game-esque animation.

Throne Of Seal is the second 3D Donghua on our list, and it is also set in a historical time period. In Throne of Seal, our young main character joins a temple with the goal of becoming stronger and ultimately inheriting the throne.
Overall, Throne of Seal has a great story and even better animation. The show doesn’t really stick to any one genre; you can find some truly heartfelt moments, as well as lighthearted and comedic moments that will leave you smiling.

Last but not least, we have Heaven Official’s Blessing. This is a popular novel series that got its own Donghua in 2020. Heaven Official’s Blessing follows Xie Lian, who originally ascended to heaven when he was 17. Since then, he was banished and re-ascended a total of three times.
I read the novels of Heaven Official’s Blessing first and absolutely loved them!
Now, he finds himself tangled with Hua Cheng, who is essentially a ghostly king. Heaven Official’s Blessing combines a love story with a compelling world filled with heavenly officials and loose ghosts that are ready to cause some real chaos.
