Here are the best party members of Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed!
Whether it’s because of their emotional story arcs and impact on the narrative, or the comic relief that they bring to help ease the tension in serious moments, these Xenoblade Chronicles characters stand out the most and are among the very best of the series’ large cast.
12
Riki
From the very moment you’re introduced to Riki, you know you’re in for a fun time. This Nopon was forced to become the Heropon at the Chief Nopon’s request, mostly due to all the debt Riki accrued trying to afford to look after his many, many children.
While Riki is mostly used as comedic relief throughout Xenoblade Chronicles, he also has a very sincere father-and-son relationship with Shulk. In a Heart-to-Heart event, Riki offers to adopt Shulk after he admits to feeling lonely without any family or parents to go back to in Colony 9, which is very sweet.

Reyn
It’s very difficult to come out of playing the first Xenoblade Chronicles game without loving Reyn’s positive attitude and all of his battle quotes. If he’s in your party, get ready to hear:
- “What a bunch of jokers!”
- “Good thing I’m here! No? Anyone?”
- “Can’t have a rainbow without Reyn!”
- And the classic “It’s Reyn time!”
A lot. While repeated one-liners in games can sometimes become annoying, Reyn is so charming that they become a staple part of the Xenoblade experience. Unfortunately, Reyn doesn’t have much of a character arc or development, but then again, how do you improve on perfection?
10
Elma
Elma is the main character of Xenoblade Chronicles X’s story, joining Cross’ party at the beginning of the game. She has more of a serious personality compared to a lot of other characters in the series, which has caused some fans to label her as ‘boring’, but she’s simply less of a feelings person and leans more towards using logic.

Elma’s character design is great too, with long silver hair that starkly contrasts her red armor. She wields dual swords or dual guns, which is just undeniably cool. Who doesn’t love a dual wielder?
Elma also appears as a Rare Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
9
Dunban
Fiora’s older brother, Dunban is the first character you play as in Xenoblade Chronicles, as he wields the Monado during the monumental battle against the Mechon at Sword Valley. Despite severely injuring his right arm, Dunban continues to fight with Shulk, determined to make the Bionis safe once and for all.
Dunban has the coolest design out of all of the party members in the first game, easily, thanks to his outfit and katana. His connections with the rest of the cast are great too, especially his brotherly relationship with Shulk and his care for Fiora.
8
Mio
A protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 alongside Noah, Mio is an Agnian soldier on her tenth term, and feels the weight of that greatly, even though she does her best to hide her feelings about it from others. She feels guilt about Miyabi sacrificing herself for her, but does her best to live each day in her memory.
Mio has a gentle and calm demeanour, but is passionate about the fight to save Aionios from the cycle. She’s a well-written character, and her scenes really make you feel for her. She also has cat ears, so what’s not to love, really?
7
Mythra
Mythra is a Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with long, blonde hair and amber eyes that reflect her affinity for light-based attacks. In contrast to Pyra, her other self, Mythra has an abrasive personality, though it’s this confidence and sometimes rudeness that fans love about her character.
Mythra also appears in Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s DLC, Torna – The Golden Country, which delves into her backstory and why she created a second personality in Pyra in the first place. She’s a well-developed character, and the more you see of her, the more you grow attached to her.
6
Noah
A Kevesi soldier from Colony 9, Noah is Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s protagonist alongside Mio. Though he doesn’t like fighting, he chooses to find out the truth about Aionios and fight the Consuls alongside Eunie, Lanz, Mio, Taion, and Sena.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has a lot of unique character designs, but these are the best.
As they travel across Aionios, Noah falls in love with Mio, leading to a devastating scene where Noah and Mio are separated before Mio’s homecoming. Noah has a lot of emotional moments that allow you to connect with him and his story, making him an excellent protagonist.
5
Alvis/A
Alvis is a mysterious character who offers Shulk cryptic clues throughout the first Xenoblade Chronicles game. He knows a lot about the Monado and Shulk’s visions, so Shulk is always curious to learn more about what Alvis knows.
It’s revealed in Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s DLC, Future Redeemed, that Alvis lost his original Homs form, but was later able to return as A. Though A is different to Alvis, they retain Alvis’ memories, and Shulk affirms their identity by calling them Alvis, rather than A like everyone else.
In the original Wii version of the game, Alvis wore a necklace with a key, but in the Definitive Edition, this was changed to the Ontos core.
4
Rex
The protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Rex is the youngest protagonist in the series, with a positive but naive attitude. His goal is to reach Elysium with Pyra, hoping to save humanity by doing so. Rex values justice and his connections with his companions, leading to the iconic line, “I love you… and all you guys!”.
Rex returned to the series in Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s Future Redeemed scenario, where, instead of a young teen, Rex is now a grown man, complete with a deep voice, beard, and scar over his eye. Rex’s development from 2 to Future Redeemed is one of the best character growths in the series.
3
Eunie
Eunie is a fan-favourite character from Xenoblade Chronicles 3, where she is a Kevesi soldier with High Entia ancestry. Eunie isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and always has something funny to say in any scene she’s in.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, but it changes things up too.
Living in Colony 9, Eunie is childhood friends with Noah and Lanz, but throughout the game, she also becomes close friends with Taion. Taion’s serious personality contrasts perfectly with Eunie’s loud one, making the pair a great complement to each other.
2
Melia
Melia is one of the most tragic characters in the Xenoblade Chronicles series. She is the heir to the High Entia throne, but because she is half Homs, half High Entia, she was forced to hide her face from her people. She loses her father and brother, and the majority of her people turn into Telethia. Talk about a tough break.
Despite what she’s been through, Melia continues to fight for the future of Bionis and for the legacy of her people. She also has a great friendship with Sharla, and eventually becomes Queen in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
1
Shulk
Shulk is the protagonist of the first Xenoblade Chronicles game and set a standard for the rest of the series. After his childhood friend Fiora is seemingly killed by the Mechon in front of his eyes, he becomes fuelled by a desire for revenge and to destroy the Mechon once and for all.
Shulk’s determination on his journey sees him retake the Bionis for his people, and say one of the best quotes in the series: “Today, we use our power to fell a god, and then… seize our destiny!”
