How To Beat Lava Dragon Statue In Genshin Impact

Although the Lava Dragon Statue is a Pyro monster, you need the Pyro element to beat it in Genshin Impact. The boss overheats when you attack it with Pyro attacks and enters their second phase, Molten Dragon. In their Molten Dragon phase, it’ll become stronger and hit with some heavy attacks. However, keep doubling down on the Pyro attacks, and eventually, the Lava Dragon Statue will fall and enter its Overburn state. In this state, the Lava Dragon Statue is completely inactive and takes increased DMG from any attack.

On the other hand, a Hydro character will cool the Lava Dragon down when it enters the Molten Dragon phase. This will keep the boss in its original form, where it has a great DMG reduction against all attacks and can be a chore to beat. So it’s better to avoid Hydro characters unless you only want to fight the original form.

Some of the Lava Dragon Statue’s attacks can be devastating, especially when it starts shooting lava on the ground, creating a lava pool. This attack will linger for a few seconds and will quickly drain your characters’ HP if they step on it. Additionally, the boss has a lot of rushing attacks where they deal high DMG if they catch your characters. It’s better to bring a decent shielder or at least a character with a Pyro shield to absorb most of the Lava Dragon’s Pyro attacks.

Since you need to keep applying Pyro on the Lava Dragon Statue, it’s recommended to fight it with a Burning team in Genshin Impact. A burning team will keep applying the Burning status, and it will smoothly take the boss from its original form to its Overburn state. You can go with characters like Xiangling, Dehya, Emilie, and Kinich in Genshin Impact.

best hyperbloom teams in genshin impact

If you want to fight the Lava Dragon Statue in its original form without using a Pyro character, you can go with a Hyperbloom team in Genshin Impact. Even if the boss has some DMG reduction, the Electro and Dendro reactions are strong and can still inflict some acceptable DMG. Add hydro to the mix, and the Hyperbloom reactions will be flying at the boss’ location, dealing extra DMG, especially if one of the Dendro characters has a Deepwood Memories build to shred Dendro resistance.
