Deliverance 2 To Make The Game Harder

Deliverance 2 To Make The Game Harder

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is not known for being an easy game, especially at the beginning when Henry takes a beating and loses all his possessions. However, there are a few mechanics that could be a tad more punishing and realistic.

10 Reasons Why Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Could Win Game Of The Year

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an early frontrunner to win Game of the Year in 2025. Here’s what makes the game so great.

The later stages of the game can also be seen as too easy for some players. This is particularly true for combat if they have spent plenty of time training. Thankfully, mods can help with this, and as official mods now exist on the Steam Workshop, downloading new content could not be easier for PC players. The following are the best gameplay mods that make KCD2 harder.

Burden Of Groschen

Money Has Weight, So Players Cannot Carry As Much Freely

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Burden of Groschen Mod

Video game characters can often carry way more than a real person could without bags, and this is no different in KCD2. However, while most objects in the game, outside of quest items, have weight, Groschen does not. This can lead to situations where Henry is carrying tens of thousands of coins at no cost to his speed or ability to carry other items.

The Burden of Groschen mod fixes this oversight by adding weight to the game’s medieval currency. For example, carrying 1000 Groschen would mean an extra 7.5 lb for Henry to haul around. While this will only make the game slightly harder, players will sometimes have to make tough choices.

Better Combat

Makes The AI Better At Combat

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Better Combat Mod

Whether players are wielding one of the game’s best swords or battling it out with halberds, combat can be both difficult and easy in KCD2, depending on the player’s skill and Henry’s stats. For those who find the combat too easy, especially beyond the early game, the Better Combat mod can provide the complexity they seek.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Mods We’d Like To See With Official Mod Support

With official mod support on the way for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, we’d love to see well-implemented mods for the following features.

While stats could be adjusted to make enemies stronger and Henry weaker, this mod instead makes for a more engaging experience, as the AI becomes smarter with how they attack. They will attack more often, switch which side they attack from more, and react faster in certain situations. In turn, this means that players will have to react faster and will often be put on the back foot, encouraging them to use more combos and techniques such as feints.

That Was Really A Bad Fall

Henry Starts As Level 2 Rather Than Level 6 After His Fall

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - That Was Really A Bad Fall Mod

One way to make Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 harder is to make Henry a lot weaker, and this is exactly what the ‘That was really a bad fall’ mod does. During the prologue, Henry has a nasty fall from which he barely survives. When he wakes up, he is normally Level 6, but this mod takes this further, lowering Henry to Level 2.

With lower stats across the board, players will have a harder time in combat, stealth, speech, and just about everything. They will also have to level up more before they can unlock the best early-game perks for KCD2. As Henry was also shot in the shoulder, he won’t be able to use a bow until he’s recovered some strength and leveled up his marksmanship, but can use a crossbow. The author has two supplemental mods to take this leveling experience further.

3

Reduced Food And Pots Values

Henry Has To Eat More To Avoid Starvation

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Reduced Food & Pots Values Mod

Henry is iconic for always being hungry, but in this critically acclaimed sequel, it’s a tad too easy to stave off hunger. Instead, Henry will often find himself stuffed after just one or two bites. The Reduced Food and Pots Values mod fixes this by lowering the nutrition numbers across the board.

For example, Smoked Cheese

is reduced from 30 to 8. This not only makes KCD2 a little harder as players will have to purchase or steal more food, but also more realistic.

2

Factions Authority

More Guards On The Roads & In Villages

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Factions Authority Mod

The Factions Authority mod increases the military presence in both maps, making the game harder for players who like sneaking around to get rich via thievery. Side quests that involve dishonest actions, even for good causes, will also become harder with more guards present.

These extra guards will be appropriate for the location with different factions being represented in different parts of the map. This military presence is not only in villages but on the roads too.

1

Realish Wounds

Wounds Last Longer & Are More Impactful

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Realish Wounds Mod

While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is all about immersion and historical accuracy, a line has to be drawn and gameplay must come first. For example, if wounds from swordfighting were completely realistic in the vanilla game, Henry would be out of action for days if not weeks, and most players would get bored.

Mods, however, allow players to dictate their own experience. For those who want Henry and every NPC to suffer the real effects of combat, the Realish Wounds mod is a great choice. Not only are wounds more severe, but they are more likely too, and individuals will bleed out much faster. While this can make some fights easier when Henry strikes first, all it takes is one blow to the head, and it’s game over for the player, adding enhanced stakes to each encounter.
