My Hero Academia: 5 Villains Who Will Shine In The Final War Arc
These villains shine in MHA’s Final War arc.
Now that the series is closer to wrapping up, a better picture can be drawn of the strongest characters in the series. In a plethora of incredible heroes and villains, only a handful stand at the top as the very best.
Updated March 22, 2025 by Rhenn Taguiam: With the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes gracing screens on April 7, 2025, fans of Izuku’s adventures can finally see an alternate take on heroism – this time in the form of “unofficial” (and technically illegal) Vigilantes who want to use their powers to defend others, even if they don’t get Pro Hero status in the process. Starring Haimawari Koichi and Iwao Oguro, Vigilantes will provide a better context on the “origins” of My Hero Academia’s story before Izuku got dragged into determining the fate of a world with Quirks.
Interestingly enough, fans who want to know the series’ strongest characters post-My Hero Academia might be surprised to learn that some characters who are still alive today couldn’t hold a candle to previous threats, such as a duplicating villain and one who can destroy and reconstruct objects.

Twice
A Duplicator With An Intense Identity Crisis
- League Of Villains
- Quirk: Double
As a person driven to criminal activity, Jin Bubaigawara, or Twice, is a tragic My Hero Academia character in the eyes of many. Possessing the Double Quirk, Jin can create duplicates of anything – all he needs are precise measurements. Despite being a member of the League of Villains, Twice is surprisingly friendly and loyal to his comrades – making his passing at the hands of the Pro Hero Hawks an even more tragic event, especially to those he considered friends.
While Jin can only create ten duplicates at a time, each duplicate would possess the same Quirk as the original to some extent – allowing Jin to create near-limitless numbers of his clones as long as he keeps on making them. Even after death, Himiko Toga got a sample of Twice’s blood, allowing her to not only copy his appearance but even his Quirk. For a half-hour, Himiko can not only create an “ocean” of clones, but those clones can even “transform” into other victims as long as they bite them. While both Twice and Toga die in the final battle, Twice has been a surprisingly formidable threat in both the Paranormal Liberation War and post-mortem in the Final War.

Edgeshot
The Shinobi With An Extendable Body
- Pro Heroes, The Lurkers
- Quirk: Foldabody
The shinobi-like Shinya Kamihara is also known as Edgeshot, a high-ranking Pro Hero whose powerset initially seems like one of those “weird” abilities that fans can just ignore. Interestingly enough, Edgeshot is placed as the 4th Top Hero after All Might’s retirement – and while he’s no longer in the rankings in the Post-War era, he remains among the strongest characters to grace the series. Edgeshot is most especially known for his Foldabody, which essentially allows him to make his body extremely long and thin – like a razor-sharp string.
This transformation is supersonic, essentially allowing Edgeshot to attack enemies by surprise. However, the “thinner” Edgeshot gets, the more of his life force is used – which means he always had to regulate the use of his powers. In turn, the most surprising use of this ability is his Ultimate Move – Zenith: Thousand Sheet Pierce. By technically flattening himself to the size of a string, Edgeshot can enter a person’s body and “hold” it in place – something he’s done to Bakugo to help practically revive the youngster and allow his body to function properly enough to defeat All For One with All Might.

Rumi Usagiyama
A Cybernetic Rabbit
- World Heroes Association
- Quirk: Rabbit
Introduced as the somewhat energetic and over-eager No. 5 Pro Hero, Rumi Usagiyama codenamed Rabbit Hero: Mirko is known to never go back down out of a fight. While at first seemingly taking the appearance of a jacked-up rabbit, this heteromorph actually had a past of being a hooligan known as “Bunny-Eared Usako.” Despite her status as only No. 5 among the likes of Endeavor and Hawks, Mirko is a force to reckon with. Rumi’s rabbit-esque qualities are amplified further with her physique, essentially granting her enhanced strength, speed, dexterity, and even combat intuition.
Befitting the rabbit archetype, Rumi has incredibly powerful legs capable of jumping and kicking with enough force to take chunks of the ground with her steps. With the Rabbit Quirk, her anti-predatory instincts alert her to any danger. In the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, Mirko is seen fending off Nomu and the more powerful High-Ends alone where even Endeavor had a hard time fighting just one High-End. Although this encounter cost Mirko an arm and both her legs, her incredible pain tolerance allowed her to deal incredible damage to Tomura Shigaraki’s experimental pod – ruining his “perfect” growth. At the end of the series, Mirko is seen still active and more than capable of using her new prosthetics for hero work.

Monoma Neito
Quirk Copier In The Limelight
Viewers will develop an early annoyance towards Monoma Neito and his rather cocky personality, especially as the Phantom Thief is known to be loud and sarcastic towards anyone he deems inferior to him. And while his classmates are quick to pacify and apologize on his behalf, Monoma remains comically annoying to others. However, despite his arrogant and antagonistic nature, Monoma has a genuine desire to save others – with his rather teasing attitude a ruse to his insecurity of having an ability that needs him on the sidelines. Monoma’s strategic nature fits well with his Copy Quirk, which allows him to completely duplicate and use another person’s Quirk as long as he makes contact with them. He can use up to four powers simultaneously for up to ten minutes each.
However, his Copy Ability takes the spotlight in the Final War Arc, as a weakened Eraser Head couldn’t use his Quirk-cancelling powers for extended periods – a crucial detriment in the war effort against an all-powerful Tomura Shigaraki. Thankfully, Monoma’s Copy can replicate the fullest extent of Erasure, allowing him to weaken Shigaraki to levels that Deku can manage facing. Although not much is known about his Pro Hero status after the series, it’s undeniable how integral his abilities have been to the fight to save the world.

Best Jeanist
The Fashionable Fiber Master
- World Heroes Association
- Quirk: Fiber Master
Known behind the mask as Tsunagu Hakamada, the No. 3 Pro Hero Fiber Hero: Best Jeanist is known for his all-jeans costume – a perfect representation of his elegant attitude and belief that influence holds a great deal when it comes to stopping evil. He loves making references to fabric, and is known to be extremely selfless and brave – a fact he took to heart when he faked his resignation to mislead the League of Villains into having a false sense of confidence in winning against the Pro Heroes in the Paranormal Liberation War.
Despite his Fiber Master only giving him control over any fabric, his technique is unparalleled. He can use layers of fabric to suffocate enemies into unconsciousness or restrain them, create webs to catch allies, and even use his fabric to catch targets. Such is Best Jeanist’s skill in his fiber control that he can even subdue and bring to the ground the likes of Tomura Shigaraki, who can use multiple Quirks at once.
13
Tokoyami
Become One With Darkness
- Class: 1-A
- Quirk: Dark Shadow
Tokoyami is a student from Class 1-A in UA, and it can be said that he reached extremely high heights in the Final War Saga. He was focused on his fight against All For One. In fact, even All For One was somewhat wary of his abilities, and that was truly telling of his potential.

These profound Marvel superheroes are within the middle-aged age group.
Tokoyami essentially surpassed Hawks in this Arc, and his firepower was devastating in effect. Now that he has gained full control over Dark Shadow, it can be said that he is among the strongest characters in the entire series, with a lot of room still left to grow.
12
Gigantomachia
An Unstoppable Force
- Organization: Paranormal Liberation Front
- Quirk: Multiple
Gigantomachia was always one of the strongest individuals in My Hero Academia. Given that he played the role of All For One’s bodyguard, this comes as no surprise to the fans.
Gigantomacia possesses multiple quirks inside of his body, and these quirks give him superhuman strength, durability, and regeneration, among many other abilities. He is an individual who has always deserved to be among the strongest.
11
All Might (Armored)
Using The Powers Of His Students
- Organization: Pro Heroes
- Quirk: None
All Might, the former Number One Hero, managed to reach the pinnacle of strength and become the Symbol of Peace. He single-handedly defeated All For One once, even though he lost to him as well.
With his new Armor, he is strong enough to fight back against All For One. Although not as strong as in his prime, he’s still very impressive.
10
Endeavor
Still A Powerful Fire User
- Organization: Pro Heroes
- Quirk: Hellflame
The Number One Hero, Endeavor lived up to his rank and title in the Final War Saga and he did incredibly well in his fight against the likes of All For One. Endeavor fought incredibly and could potentially have even ended All For One for good.
However, the latter had other plans in his mind, and eventually, he ended up losing his battle to him. Still, Endeavor proved to be very dangerous, and surpassed the expectations of the fans. Unfortunately, he ended up suffering quite a heavy loss in this arc, and his loss of limb certainly affects him, making him weaker than before at the end of the series.
9
Shoto Todoroki
Perfect Unity Of Fire And Ice
- Class: 1-A
- Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot
Shoto Todoroki is Endeavor’s son and the man who the latter touted to surpass even All Might one day. He possesses the power of Half Cold Half-Hot, and this ability gives him half of the powers of an ice quirk, as well as the power of his dad’s Hellflame Quirk. Essentially, he has the best of both, and this allows him to utilize fire, unlike any other individual in the world of My Hero Academia.
His powers, when brought out at their very best, such as through Flash Fire Fist, or even better, Phosphor, are incredibly devastating to even the strongest individuals in My Hero Academia. He’s surely among the strongest right now, with the potential to reach the levels of All Might.
8
Dabi
Blue Flames To Burn Through Anything
- Organization: Paranormal Liberation Front
- Quirk: Blueflame
Dabi is another son of Endeavor and one who was a member of the League of Villains for quite a while. Also known as Toya Todoroki, Dabi’s goal was to expose Endeavor and destroy his legacy, which would be vengeance for him in many ways after what he suffered at the hands of his father.

My Hero Academia: 7 Most Draining Quirks
Not every quirk in My Hero Academia is fun for its user. Sometimes, these abilities can be far more draining than they are helpful in battle.
In terms of strength, Dabi, who was once deemed a failure by his father, possesses the powers of Blueflame, which are incredibly potent. His flames are so strong that they burn hotter than even Endeavor and Shoto’s. The only downside to his abilities was the fact that he ended up injuring himself every time he used his quirk. However, at the end of the Final War Saga, he awakened his mother’s Ice quirk as well. Now, he has the powers of ice and fire, just like Shoto, and that actually makes him potentially stronger than him.
7
Eri
The Young Rewinder WIth Limitless Potential
During the Shie Hassakai Arc, a chance encounter between Eri and Izuku Midoriya had put not only the yakuza faction but also Kai Chisaki in the crosshairs of the Pro Heroes. It’s only in her backstory that it’s revealed that Eri has been abused repeatedly by scientists due to her unique abilities. It took some time for both Mirio Togata and Izuku to get through to her, as she keeps on returning to Chisaki as long as nobody innocent is hurt in the process.
Despite her meek stature, however, Eri possesses one of the most powerful Quirks in the series: Rewind. With this, Eri can use the “power” in her horn to reverse a living body to a previous state. Depending on how much she “recharges” her power, she can heal injuries, undo modifications, and even turn targets much younger. It’s through her help that Mirio Togata managed to regain his lost powers, and even allow Izuku’s body to bypass the limits of One For All in his fight against Overhaul. At the end of the series, it’s through Eri’s help that she managed to “Rewind” Mirio back to the state when he still had his Quirk, allowing Mirio to back up the heroes in the Final War.
6
Mirio Togata
The Cheerful Protege Of Sir Nighteye
- The Big Three
- Quirk: Permeation
Introduced as one of the famed Big Three of U.A. High, Mirio Togata and his peers Najire Hado and Tamaki Amajiki were hailed as the best of the current batch of students in the school at the time. Mirio in particular is a powerhouse, as behind his heroic, helpful, and cheerful personality is a fighter to behold. The series ends with Mirio taking the No. 1 Pro Hero spot – a much-deserved ranking due to his sheer optimism, skill, and training as All Might’s original replacement. However, this status is also due to his interesting skill set.
Mirio’s Permeation Quirk allows him to become intangible and pass through anything, even enemy attacks. However, doing so will not only leave him undressed (unless wearing his uniform made of his bodily sources) but also deprived of sensory effects. Should Mirio return to normal while phasing through an object, he gets violently repelled away – something he can use to his advantage by dashing toward an enemy for an attack. Such is Mirio’s potential to turn the war on its heel that one could surmise the story required him to lose his Quirk to make sure the League of Villains had a “fighting chance” to put the heroes at a disadvantage – and it’s only his delayed return to fight against a drastically overpowered Shigaraki that only paved the way for Deku to truly save the day.
5
Overhaul
The Reverser To Shigaraki’s Destroyer
- Shie Hassakai, Paranormal Liberation Front
- Quirk: Overhaul
Originally an orphan under the care of Kyudai Garaki, Kai Chisaki is notable for his Overhaul Quirk that allows him to destroy and recreate everything he touches. It’s the “destructive” part of this Quirk that Garaki took and implanted into Tomura Shigaraki in a bid to help build him as a vessel for All For One. Meanwhile, Chisaki is adopted by the boss of Shie Hassakai – something that Chisaki was truly thankful for. Unfortunately, his belief that Quirks are a “disease” and his desire to eradicate the world of them had twisted Chisaki into conducting villainous experiments – to the point that the Pro Heroes had to pursue him.
Hell-bent on keeping Eri to himself, Kai Chisaki fuses with various members of his Eight Bullets squad to transform into monstrous versions of himself – something that Izuku was only able to defeat by using One For All to its full power. It’s only thanks to Eri constantly Rewinding Izuku to his body’s “pre-damaged” state that Izuku was able to push his body to endure Full Cowl 100% without side effects. And even then, Izuku was only able to knock Chisaki’s monstrous form back to his ordinary self. It’s helpful to consider that the only other time Izuku was able to do this was against Shigaraki when he was willing to go all out to defeat the final villain.
4
Bakugo
Awakened Explosions
- Class: 1-A
- Quirk: Explosion
Bakugo is one of the strongest individuals in My Hero Academia, and in the Final War Saga, he took his explosion Quirk to the next level. After achieving Quirk Awakening, Bakugo was able to keep up with even teen All For One, and that is truly astonishing.
In fact, he was the one who defeated All For One at the end of it all, and that just goes to show that he can keep up with Deku easily.
3
Izuku Midoriya
The Final Bearer Of One For All
Izuku Midoriya is the protagonist of the series, and right now, he can be considered to be one of the strongest individuals in the story. Izuku had the power of the One For All until recently, along with awakening the abilities of many vestiges inside.
That said, these abilities have now been lost. Still, Izuku had the embers of power inside of him, and his showing so far easily makes him one of the strongest characters of all time. He still has a bit of potential left to fulfill, and fans already know that he will become the future Number One Hero, surpassing the legacy of All Might.
2
All For One
Truly A Horrifying Quirk User
- Organization: Villains
- Quirk: All For One
All For One himself is one of the ultimate villains in My Hero Academia, and he reached unprecedented heights, especially in the Final War Saga, when he returned to his young self and surpassed every version of his that the fans have ever seen.
All For One, at his very best, is certainly one of the strongest individuals in the series, with the power to steal and stockpile any Quirk that he wants. When he took over Shigaraki’s body, he was nigh unstoppable.
1
Shigaraki Tomura
Destruction Is The Least Of Anyone’s Problems
- Organization: Paranormal Liberation Front
- Quirk: Decay, All For One
Shigaraki Tomura is the strongest individual in the entirety of My Hero Academia that the fans have seen. He was born with the power of Decay, which later went through reawakening, strengthening it greatly.
He was also operated upon, and his body was made as strong as that of All Might. Above all, he was given the All For One Quirk as well, and right now, he is essentially a destruction incarnate whose strength as well as capability is said to surpass that of even All For One. He can destroy the entirety of Japan if he wants, and that in itself makes him the strongest individual to exist in My Hero Academia.
