There are a total of 7 homesteads to rob in Red Dead Redemption 2, and each of them further proves how much of an outlaw Arthur Morgan is, and how deep his loyalties to the Van der Linde gang go. Robbing homesteads isn’t exactly easy. After all, it’s a crime that involves people defending their homes, but when has the law and the moral thing ever stopped Arthur Morgan?

Red Dead Redemption 2: The Most Peculiar Points of Interest (& Where to Find Them)
Red Dead Redemption 2 has some disturbing and peculiar sights within its vast open world, and here are the most interesting points of interest.
With 7 homesteads in Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s going to greatly benefit players to know where exactly these homesteads can be found, and what they can expect when they venture here on their trusty horse.
Players only need to rob 4 Homesteads for the Breaking and Entering achievement.
7
Chez Porter
Rob a Hostile Family, Secluded with Their Own Dialect
- Location: Found south of Window Rock, Ambarino
Chez Porter is the first homestead that players have the chance to rob, as during Chapter 2, Javier Escuella asks Arthur to join him for a ride and a robbery if they stick in camp with him. The homestead itself involves a secret stash of jewels, where the cut is shared between the Van der Linde gang, and all it took was Arthur and Javier venturing to the Porter family and fighting off them and their weird dialect.
This can be a missable homestead, as failing to do it with Javier might result in the place being abandoned after Chapter 2, so be sure to complete this content before heading south with the Van der Linde gang, just keep in mind that the Porters do not like visitors, at all.
6
Lonnie’s Shack
Wannabe Bandits are Hold Up in this Abandoned Shack
- Location: Found to the northeast building of Pleasance in Lemoyne
Lonnie’s Shack and Aberdeen Pig Farm are fairly close together, but Lonnie’s Shack becomes a robbable homestead that’s a part of Sean MacGuire’s incredible planning, as the two can venture to this area but only in Chapter 3. Once here, it’s time to kill all bandits except for one, as one is needed alive to intimidate and threaten so that he reveals the location of the hidden stash within the building itself.
Doing so reveals a sweet pile of loot for the Van der Linde gang, and while this mission is missable in Chapter 3, players can still come here later in the game to find a new group of bandits, where Arthur can kill them except for one to once again reveal a unique loot location and a free Double-Action Revolver.
5
Aberdeen Pig Farm
A Twisted and Incestuous Pig Farm With Lots of Loot
- Location: North of Pleasance in Lemoyne
The Aberdeen Pig Farm will see Arthur greeted by an overweight man in overalls who kindly invites Arthur inside to share a meal and a drink with him and his wife. However, players can silently rob this homestead by heading to the west side of the building and robbing the loot box found within the side room, without the Aberdeen couple realizing what Arthur has done.

Red Dead Redemption 2: All Gang Hideouts & Where to Find Them
Here’s where players can find every Gang Hideout in Red Dead Redemption 2 so that they can be the last outlaw standing in 1899.
If Arthur decides to stick around the Pig Farm, he will notice something isn’t quite right about the two, and this brother-sister couple is actually here to poison Arthur and rob him in return, so be sure to re-visit the couple, take your money back from behind the portrait of their mother, and head upstairs to loot the floorboards of more jewelry.
4
Van Horn Mansion
A Run-Down Manor with Two Drunkards Protecting a Stash of Money
- Location: Found by the shore to the southeast area of Van Horn Trading Post, New Hanover
The Van Horn Mansion hasn’t seen much love in recent years, and this abandoned manor is home to two drunkards who have just finished celebrating a fresh score with alcohol and money bound to the table. While players can enter the house via stealth, the two men will soon wake up and become hostile if Arthur makes noise or tries to take the money.
Taking these men out of the picture with a gun or a lasso is the right thing to do to grab the stash on the center table down the stairs of the manor, and it’s an easy score to rob from a homestead with little more than two drunkards as a threat.
3
Catfish Jacksons
Rob the Alcoholic and Abusive Algie Davison of Whatever He Has Left
- Location: South point of Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne, past Braithwaite Manor
While Catfish Jacksons can be robbed as part of a Chapter 4 mission for Strauss in Shady Belle with Money Lending and Other Sins 5, players can rob it outside of this mission – before or after – to gain even more money. Heading here will see Arthur engage in hostilities from either Algie or his son Nate, and inside the homestead itself is a small stash of money that can be threatened out of Nate.
While it’s not a large sum of money, it’s still a homestead to explore and loot, and there are a few rare cigarette cards that Nate has in his room. Looting anything counts for the achievement, so take Catfish Jacksons as an opportunity to decide what kind of man Arthur Morgan is.
2
Watson’s Cabin
The Cabin of the Old and Threatening Mama Watson
- Location: West of Wallace Station in West Elizabeth, following the path from Little Creek River
If players manage to get lost in West Elizabeth, they may find themselves stumbling upon a humble little homestead with a donkey outside. This homestead can be entered, and Mama Watson will be sitting in her chair reading her book and is none too amused about the stranger inside her house. However, Mama Watson’s eyes aren’t what they used to be, and she thinks Arthur has been sent to put more money in the stash in the cellar.

If Arthur goes into the cellar, he can rob this homestead, which contains plenty of cash, jewelry, and a Semi-Automatic Shotgun. Robbing anything from here progresses the achievement, and players can even return here an additional two times to progress the story of Mama Watson and the Watson Boys, just be sure to bring a gun for the next encounter.
1
Willard’s Rest
Money is Gifted to Arthur After Helping the Widow Here Learn to Hunt
- Location: Furtherst north east location in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover (accessible after The Widow of Willard’s Rest in Chapter 6)
Willard’s Rest counts as a robbable homestead, even though it’s technically not robbing it at all. Players can only access the interior of Willard’s Rest in Chapter 6, where upon coming here, they will meet a widow named Charlotte. If Arthur decides to help this woman hunt a rabbit, and then return later to help her shoot a gun, they can enter her house where they will spend the night in the spare room.
Upon waking up, players can read a letter from Charlotte, where there is a treasure box that she has gifted them. Opening the treasure box and taking the money from within will reward players with a checklist completion for the homesteads they need, even if this one is technically a gift, and not a robbery.
