Minecraft: All The Rarest Blocks And Where To Find Them
There are a variety of rare blocks in Minecraft. Here, you can check out some of the rarest along with where to find them.
Most of these sorts of mobs roam around the overworld and are there just to be appreciated. Yet, some can be tamed and turned into adorable pets, whereas others can be food. Hopefully, though, you have another source of nutrition, as these sweet creatures deserve better than that. Plus, it’s hard to conjure up the courage to kill them anyway. Don’t agree? Just look at all of their cute faces.
Updated on March 20, 2025, by Mackenzee Hardyk: Minecraft is seemingly always getting new content, from mobs to different biomes, to a whole movie. More excitingly, we received an update where the most faithful of companions, the dog, has received a handful of new skins that are absolutely adorable. We’ve decided to update this list with a few more adorable mobs, including a few new and old mobs to make this list even cuter.
20
Dolphin
The Graceful Treasure-Hunter
For some time, the bodies of water in the Minecraft overworld only contained squid and a few fish. However, these days, you can also find beautiful dolphins swimming around.
These majestic creatures can adorably jump out of the water and lead you to treasure chests. However, they don’t do the latter for free, as they require payment in fish before they’ll lead you to valuables. But who wouldn’t give up their raw cod or salmon for these intelligent mammals?
19
Sniffer
The Cutest Seed Finders
There’s a chance you may have never heard of a sniffer in Minecraft because they do not spawn naturally. They were supposedly extinct before the player existed in the world, so you have to spawn them with an egg.
They are rather cute though, and if their appearance doesn’t convince you, their babies are called snifflets. They are unique little creatures though, and they aren’t impractical to have around.
If you are in need of seeds, just trail one of these guys for a while and watch them sniff around. They will eventually dig some seeds up for you.
18
Baby Llama
The Best Merchant Helpers
Minecraft’s Savanna and Mountain areas have something that all of the other biomes don’t: llamas. Whether they’re with a trader or in a herd, these creatures are beautiful. Yet, the adults can’t match up to their babies.
The little llamas are incredibly adorable. Much of their cuteness comes from their tiny legs, which don’t seem enough to hold up their larger body. However, when something is this endearing, logic doesn’t matter. Unfortunately, babies are a lot less likely to spawn than grown-ups, but you can take the issue into your own hands by breeding two tamed llamas. All you need is some bales of hay.
17
Baby Polar Bear
The Friendly Cub
Most people don’t get the chance to see polar bears in real-life, so it’s nice to have them in Minecraft. This is especially true for the cubs, who are among the cutest things ever. With their little paws and big behinds, it warms your heart to see them waddle around.
However, it can be dangerous to view them up close as the adult bears are very protective of their young. For instance, if you decide to be cruel and hit one of the little guys, all the polar bears nearby will try to give you a beating.
16
Fox
The Adorable Hunter
Not all cute animals are friendly. For instance, foxes run around the Minecraft overworld hunting prey. Thankfully, they don’t have a taste for human flesh, so you don’t need to worry about them. In fact, you’re able to use their keen killing instincts if you tame one.
Once they’re your friend, they’ll attack most mobs for you and even pick up treasures. Not to mention, they’ll warm your heart with their adorable animations. Their sleeping one is particularly endearing.
15
Baby Goat
Fluffiest Little Dudes
Admittedly, the adult goats aren’t the cutest thing to be roaming around the Minecraft world, but their babies are absolutely adorable. They look like fluffy little things just wandering around and you don’t have to worry about them ramming into you. You do, however, need to be on the lookout for the adult goats though.
You can find these little goats roaming on snowy mountains, usually hopping around and following after the adult goats. Everything about the baby goats is adorable. Their little beards and the fact that they don’t have horns make them unthreatening and cute.
14
Rabbit
The Bouncing Buddy
More often than not, small things tend to be cute. Their tiny stature somehow makes them more appealing. This goes double for critters that also have big ears and bounce around the place. Of course, this is a description of the little bunnies that roam the Minecraft overworld.
They’re just so cute that it’s impossible not to fall in love with one when you see them. Unfortunately, some other Minecraft mobs feel differently, and they try to attack the poor helpless animals. So, if you see one, make sure to protect it.
13
Mooshroom
The Greatest Mushroom Growers
Mooshrooms are exactly like the typical Minecraft cow, except they are red or light brown and have mushrooms growing out their backs. They are quite rare to find since they only spawn in the mushroom biomes, which are also quite rare.
Aside from being adorable, they can also be a little more useful than the regular cows. While you can milk them with a bucket, you can also obtain mushroom stew from them if you milk them with an empty wooden bowl. Adorable and practical!
12
Axolotl
Cutest Spitfires
Axolotls are little aquatic mobs that are typically found in lush caves. While they are harmless to the player, they are predators toward other aquatic mobs. These tough but cute little guys attack not only the fish but also the drowned. You can also get an achievement by helping an axolotl kill whatever their current target is.
Perhaps one of the cutest things you can do with an axolotl is scoop it up into an empty bucket and just carry it around. Who wouldn’t want to have a little axolotl with them everywhere they go?
11
Slime
The Underground Blob
These little bouncy creatures are quite the sight! When slimes are damaged they break off into smaller versions of themselves. They are found very deep underground, often in caves, and you can create a slime farm to harvest their slimeballs.
The creatures are green, gooey, and have cute little faces. Baby slimes, the smallest version, are extremely adorable, and you will feel bad slaying them just for their slimeballs. Unfortunately, it’s necessary to craft many important things, but you’ll still always admire this mob for its cuteness!
10
Chicken
The Original Critter
Chickens have been in Minecraft for a very long time and they are one of the most well-known peaceful creatures in the entire game.

Here, we’ll take a look at the unique things that make The Warden so interesting in Minecraft.
You can kill these cuties to obtain their feathers and meat for cooking. But who would be heartless enough to kill one of these innocent animals? Is the experience points worth it? All they want to do is frolic and fly around the Minecraft terrain, is that too much to ask?
9
Baby Villager
The Infant
Although villagers are kind of weird-looking, the baby version of the mob is super cute! It’s basically just a human child within the world of Minecraft.
These little babies can be obtained by two villagers breeding. And eventually, the infants will grow into full-sized adults that you’re able to trade with. So, if you want your village’s population to increase, then you need to get some of these kids. They are indeed the future.
8
Squid
The Tentacle Friend
Squids aren’t the first thing players consider when they think about adorable mobs. But further inspection shows that these silly squids are definitely a perfect pet for anyone with a small pond!

Sometimes the best Minecraft mods are the ones that make your life just a wee bit easier — these are the best quality-of-life mods for Minecraft.
They’re certainly not the most interesting mob in the game. Yet, they do have a cute look about them in a wacky way, and many find them adorable. Just try to look these little guys in the eyes and tell them they aren’t cute!
7
Turtle
The Shelled Swimmer
Turtles are majestic in real life, and these aquatic animals are even better in the game of Minecraft. Just like real-life turtles, they are green with little limbs to help them move around.
You can start your own turtle farm within the game, and it can be a fun animal to keep as a pet. Make sure to fence them in, though, as they might try to run away – at a leisurely pace.
6
Snow Golem
The Winter Defender
There’s no denying that Snow Golems don’t provide the same level of protection as the Iron version. Luckily they have a different purpose, which is to warm your hearts with their adorable nature.
You can obtain one of these little cuties by placing a pumpkin on top of two stacked snow blocks. As their bodies are made out of snow, they’re pretty weak. But they’re still good companions to keep around. And their adorable pumpkin faces bring great joy to the world of Minecraft!
5
Panda
The Playful Bear
Pandas were a welcomed addition to the game because of their amazing real-life counterpart. Everybody loves a cute baby panda, and Minecraft players are certainly not an exception.
They’re fascinating animals, and within the game, they have differing personalities. Some like roll around, others stay laid on their back, and several are perpetually worried. One thing they all have in common, though, is they live around the jungle biome. And they’re particularly interested in people holding bamboo.
4
Bee
Bumbling Buddies
Bees were added after Mojang partnered with the World Wildlife Foundation and you can find them buzzing around every once in a while, typically in a meadow or a forest with flowers. They are neutral mobs, so as long as you leave them and their hive alone, they will be passive.
Typically bees just go about their business, being adorable and pollinating flowers. While you cannot tame these fuzzy little guys, you bring a colony of bees home by breaking a hive with a tool enchanted by silk touch.
3
Wolf
The Human’s Best Friend
One of the most commonly tamed animals in all of Minecraft is a wolf. It’s easy to see why, as they’re simple to find in the overworld, and you only need bones to win their heart. Unfortunately, it’s never clear how many bones it will actually take to befriend these greedy animals.
It’s beneficial to try, however, as these sweet canines can help fight off enemies. And when they’re not battling dangerous mobs, they act like adorable domestic dogs.
2
Pig
The Porkchop Pal
Pigs in Minecraft are super cute, especially if they’re babies! Their level of adorableness isn’t solely based on their physical appearance, either. They make delightful little snorting sounds too.
They can be killed for meat, but why would anybody want to do that to such lovely animals? Hopefully, in the future, more players will see the affection pigs give and stop slaying them. Until that day, everyone else needs to do their part and hide their adorable walking pork chops from enemies!
1
Ocelot
The Wild Cat
The ocelot is another mob that you’re able to tame, similar to the wolf. Although the sweet little felines don’t fancy bones, they want raw fish. After all, even wild kitties love a good fish!
Once tamed, they no longer flee from you, nor do they despawn. And it’s extremely useful to have one nearby while building, as certain mobs are afraid of them, most famously creepers. However, you’d probably want to keep an animal that cute around anyway.
