Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 Release Date
Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 will be released in Japan on April 4, 2025. VIZ has yet to announce when the English version will be out in the US. Although a preliminary image was revealed a few days ago, the full cover has now been revealed in the latest issue of V-JUMP, the magazine in which the manga is serialized:
Fan reaction to the new volume seems to be mostly positive, with a lot of praise for Toyotaro, who is seen as Toriyama’s successor by many fans (and was also seen like that by Toriyama himself).
However, fans are also expressing disappointment that the magazine hasn’t brought news about the manga returning next month (which means that it probably won’t resume in April), like this user on Reddit:
Imagine making this hardest cover of all time, then not getting the manga going.
Is Dragon Ball Super Canceled?
DBS went on an indefinite hiatus in March 2024, shortly after the news of Toriyama’s death broke. In February 2025, Chapter 104, which was marketed as a special one-shot, was released, and fans believed that the series would return to its regular schedule. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and the series is once again on an indefinite break.
Although illustrated by Toyotaro, Super was closely supervised by Toriyama. The franchise creator wrote the plot lines and revised the storyboards drawn by Toyotaro. Then, when everything was approved, Toyotaro would draw the final version.
Without Toriyama, it might seem natural to let Toyotaro finish the story, since Toriyama probably discussed his plans for Super with him. However, with the rights to the franchise in dispute, resuming Super may not be so easy.
So far, the series hasn’t been officially canceled, but it may be a while before it returns. However, there may be news about Chapter 105 when Volume 24 is released.
Dragon Ball Super anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll. The latest manga chapters are available for free on MANGA Plus.
