Pokemon GO Player Discovers Creepy PokeStop

A Pokemon GO player has shared what they’re calling the most haunted PokeStop in the game. The discovery has some Pokemon GO fans creeped out, while others are enthusiastic about checking it out for themselves.

Pokemon GO uses a system of landmarks that are contributed in a variety of ways, including by Pokemon GO players. Though locations have to go through a screening process to be approved, this has led to some odd places being declared PokeStops, including gravesites and even a shipwreck. While this new find is a bit less morbid, it’s nonetheless got some players feeling nervous.

A new leak indicates that the developers of Pokemon GO may be planning to add a controversial new feature sometime in the future.

Reddit user and Pokemon GO fan oconn518 shared their PokeStop discovery of a “haunted” Raggedy Ann doll named Annabelle. The related image shows the doll resting in a glass case, with a sign that warns not to open the container. The PokeStop can be found at the Warrens Occult Museum, located in Connecticut. The PokeStop has a number of fellow fans saying that they would stay far away from this particular PokeStop, apparently being quite creeped out by it. Others, however, have said that they would love to have a Pokemon GO postcard from the location. The OP is even considering going back in order to grant that wish.

Annabelle May Seem Familiar

If the sight of the doll, its name, or the name of its location seem familiar, that’s probably because of The Conjuring film series. The Conjuring, which premiered back in 2013, was based upon the experiences of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a pair of paranormal investigators. Annabelle was present in the first The Conjuring film, and ended up getting its own spin-off simply titled Annabelle. The location of the PokeStop is at the museum where a number of items from their investigations were housed, allegedly for everyone’s safety. In other words, yes, according to Ed and Lorraine Warren, the Annabelle doll is possessed or otherwise haunted.

There are plenty of unexpected PokeStop locations in the game that players have shared in the past, but this is certainly one that would make some gamers think twice before spinning it. While there are plenty of fans eager to get a postcard of this locale, getting one with no prior explanation from a friend might be genuinely creepy. Of course, there’s ultimately no harm in spinning it or getting its postcard, and it might be fun for players in the area to visit the location and see if there are any spooky Pokemon hanging around, especially during Halloween.
