Injustice 2
Metascore: 87
Injustice 2 is a fighting game made by NetherRealm studios, the team behind the Mortal Kombat series. Given that, it has quite a few similarities in terms of the DNA of the game and its design. Injustice 2 has a great roster of DC heroes and villains, including not just the big ones like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman but also comparatively less popular characters such as Black Manta, Atrocitus, and Atom.
The combat is fun, and you can have your favorite DC characters beat each other up. The single-player component follows a multiversal story that’s adapted from the Injustice comics, and it has some good storytelling and action sequences.

The Wolf Among Us
Metascore: 83
Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us is an underrated visual novel-like game with a gritty noir vibe and is one of the studio’s absolute best games. It’s an adventure game set in the world of Fables, which was a comic series published by DC and Vertigo. This world has popular fairy tale characters that live among regular humans.
You play as Bigby Wolf who is the sheriff of Fabletown, trying to solve a brutal murder while navigating political tensions between the Fables. The game’s dark tone and morally complex choices make it super engaging and compelling to play through.

Marvel’s Spider-Man
Metascore: 87
Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man has a narrative tone that’s actually pretty similar to Invincible and deals with similar themes of responsibility and what it means to have superpowers in a world filled with superpowered characters.

Invincible: Every Main Character And Their Voice Actor
These are the voices of the Invincible characters.
The game has a fantastic open world, and swinging through New York never got boring. The story gets pretty emotional in the third act, and this game is easily one of the best Spider-Man adaptations.
5
Prototype
Metascore: 83
Prototype is another game that takes place in New York, with a similarly superpowered character. This time, you play as Alex Mercer, a man with shape-shifting powers, along with superhuman strength and speed. Alex can absorb enemies, transform his body parts into weapons, and just tear through the city with devastating force.
Some of the boss fights and city destruction can be likened to Invincible’s big-scale battles. The fast-paced combat can make it feel like a power fantasy in the best way possible, and it’s unfortunate that the series didn’t receive any more installments after the second game.

Infamous: Second Son
Metascore: 80
Sucker Punch Productions might now be most well known for Ghost of Tsushima, but the Infamous series was where they really found their footing. These games do share more than a few similarities with the Prototype series, but Infamous: Second Son really felt like a fresh new thing, albeit with a lighter tone and a more colorful look.
This game follows Delsin Row, played by Troy Baker, who suddenly gains the ability to absorb other people’s powers, who are known as Conduits in the game. The super-powered traversal was a fun mechanic, and the game still looks great more than a decade later. The moral choice system is where the game feels unique, as you can choose to be a hero or a villain based on gameplay decisions, which also changes how the story plays out.
3
Marvel Rivals
Metascore: 77
Marvel Rivals is an obvious choice, given its extensive roster of super-powered characters similar to Invincible’s world and lore. The game has remained extremely popular since its release in December 2024 and has quickly become one of the most successful live-service games.
The chaotic and fast-paced battles are especially a highlight, and the sheer variety of characters gives it some nice unpredictability. There aren’t many characters in Marvel Rivals who immediately remind you of Invincible, but if we had to pick one, it would probably be the Human Torch.
2
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Metascore: 75
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a superhero game from a time when the genre had more misses than hits. Thankfully, this one was a hit. It was developed by Raven Software, back when they made original games and weren’t relegated to being a Call of Duty support studio. It’s based on the movie of the same name and acts as a tie-in, and both projects were released on the same day.
It features an original story that is also a prologue to some of the things that happen in the movie. Hugh Jackman returns to voice Wolverine, and the game features some brutal hack-and-slash gameplay with good storytelling. It’s one of the rare instances of a video-game tie-in being much, much better than the movie counterpart.
1
Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy
Metascore: 84
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy remains an underrated superhero game. Its hype and anticipation were negatively affected due to 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers’ lackluster quality, but this game, being a single-player, narrative-driven experience, was quite different from it.
It has some amazing writing, world-building, and character development. The various alien planets and locations are stunning to look at, and a lot of the characters in the game are better than their MCU counterparts.
