Ready or Not is a game best played with an entire squad that has your back. If at times your friends aren’t available, or you’re having trouble finding other players online, it’s still possible to start a game of Ready or Not. To start a solo game, players can simply select the Single-player mode at the beginning of any mission.

In single-player mode, the game automatically adds AI-controlled bots to your team, forming a complete five-member squad. Players can give direct commands to these AI bots, which allows them to coordinate and strategize with them during the course of the mission.

Additionally, Ready or Not’s Update 1.0 has revamped the single-player experience by introducing a Commander Mode. In Commander mode, players can choose their squadmates and manage an entire SWAT team by themselves. This mode also brings new features and unique mechanics to the gameplay, such as the Ironman Mode.

It’s not possible to start a new game completely alone without any AI bots. However, there is a way around this if players want to be the lone wolf. To play Ready or Not without bots, players need to start a single-player mission as they normally would.

Next, they need to give the AI bots a direct order to stay put in the spawn area. Doing so forces them to hang back, while you can go into the building and take control of the situation all by yourself.

However, instead of leaving the AI-powered squadmates behind, it is recommended that players bring them along on missions for extra defense and backup. Ready or Not is already an incredibly challenging game, and the single-player mode just amps up the difficulty.

A second method for playing the game solo is to get your teammates killed in the first mission of the Commander mode and replace them with no new officers in the following missions. This will spawn the player alone without teammate bots from the very beginning. Killing teammates directly by shooting them is not suggested, as they can fire back. But tossing a grenade or getting them into known traps will do the trick.

Last but not least, there is also a third method to play solo, but this one is only possible for the online game mode. So, head to the multiplayer section and host a private game. Now, invite no one and start the game alone. This way, only the player will spawn on the map without any AI teammates.

Now, if your problem with teammates is them collecting evidence, there is a community mod for that, which disables the ability for AI teammates to collect evidence during the mission, while they still fight alongside the player.
