There are several versions of the item dotted throughout the Lands Between, the first and smallest buff is found very early on in the Weeping Peninsula and the best of the set is found at the midpoint of the DLC. The quest itself takes players far and wide, culminating in Crumbling Farum Azula towards the climax of the game. But once collected, the final few bosses and the DLC become no match for ranged waves and devastating slams.

An incredibly early pick and one that shouldn’t be missed, the claw talisman transforms the game into a bunny-hopping simulator, with some ridiculous damage attached to the end of it. The greatsword trick is to powerstance. Thanks to the addition all the way back in Dark Souls 2, the player is able to equipt two of the same weapon, one in each hand and swing, slam and decapitate anything that gets in their way.

Some weapons are dropped and are not an issue, but the player will need a friend to fetch the copy or collect it in their second playthrough, but once both are in hand, the world is very much their oyster to be cracked up and tore to pieces.

The first turtle is available in the base game, but players should for sure seek out its brother, as the difference can be felt and makes fights effortless.

By mitigating the down-side of high stamina costs, greatswords start looking more like daggers in terms of the number of attacks and the frequency of hits. Players can pick this up within about five minutes of starting a playthrough, and it can stay in their pocket for virtually the whole game. There is something just so satisfying about holding down the right trigger and releasing it once the sound queue plays, to unleash a boat-load of damage, only added to by this little trinket.

HP is important, but so is keeping up the fight. This talisman is helpful for those who struggle to use an estus flask, then get back up on the offensive. By upping their poise, the player can potentially get a few extra hits in with their greatsword, whilst brushing off any oncoming blows from the enemy.

Combined with some extra buffs from physick flasks and consumables and the player can retreat, heal, then return to battle feeling like they just activated a second-phase themselves. It is great when used with heavy weapons, as getting a large hit canceled sucks, so being able to power through makes fights feel easier and bosses fall like dominoes.
