There are tons of new features in Chapter 6 Season 2, but one of the biggest upgrades is the new method for how to heist the train in Fortnite. A brand-new system for battling against a mode of transporting and robbing the fantastic loot sat inside. How can you heist the train in Fortnite this season?

In the past, heisting the train in Fortnite was really more of an imagination game. You landed, held a button, and just waited. It didn’t really resemble “robbing a train”. It didn’t stop. Nothing exploded. It’s been updated with the release of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2. Like all the new vaults, there’s new unique methods or getting inside. The train features some of the best and easiest to access loot of the new season too.

How to Heist the Train in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

Heisting the train in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 has seen big changes. We’ve got a whole new method! If you want to get inside and start cracking into everything inside, this is how you can get inside:

Land on the Train

First step is just to get to the train. You’ll need to get there quickly this season if you want to be the one who makes it inside. The new train always travels at the same pace though, so it’s in a more predictable location compared to the old “anywhere on the track”. Land there, and grab some basic loot. Preferably some thermite for the next step.

Attach Your Thermite to Heist the Train in Fortnite

The next step is to get your Thermite ready to blow the train open! There are some extra steps for this spot compared to the basic vaults though. You’ll first need to take out the turrets. Attach Thermite to these to blow them. They’ll drop extra thermite, so you don’t need to worry about running out.

Then, attach your thermite to the Train Itself. You do this in the hole left by the turret in the center.

Unlike the other vaults, there’s no big delay. It blows relatively quickly. You just need to wait for the train to stop. However, it’s not advisable to jump in straight away. Instead, there’s another step.

Take Out the Guards

Players next need to fight off the guards that arrive. Once you blow the train, it’ll stop and NPCs will start to rift in. While the train is now open, they rift in the doorways. If you’re inside looting, you’ll be absolutely trapped by Fortnite NPCs. They’re not difficult to kill, but you’ll take a lot of damage just turning around if you’re in the train car when they appear. It’s probably best to take them out first or at least move them away from the doors

At this point you can also explore what’s available within the train too. There’s plenty of goodies inside here to help you with the fight. (Or just running if you’d rather not deal with them)

What Do You Get?

That’s how to heist the train in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2! It’s a more involved process, but it is actually quicker than heisting the vaults elsewhere on the map. Players only need to blow the train and loot up, there’s no waves of enemies compared to the vaults, but is the loot on the same level?

The inside of the train now actually features better loot. Players will get everything they get in a normal vault. That’s a ton of rare chests, and gold, and Dill coins. However, it’s all crammed into a train carriage. It’s one of the best landing spots in Fortnite thanks to this reward! So, expect a few fights if you’re landing to take on the train.
