VALORANT Game Changers 2025 Slot Allocation revealed

In a blog post by Riot Games, the publisher has decided to update the VALORANT Game Changers (GC) Championship by grouping Americas as a region and awarding them a total of 4 slots. This is similar to what happened in League of Legends, which saw the merge of North and South America to form the LTA. The Chinese region will receive one slot, Pacific two slots, and three slots will be given to GC EMEA.

GC Americas LCQ to main regional balance

In 2025, Riot Games also decided to create the new GC Americas LCQ. Featuring the second-place teams from Brazil, Latin America, and North America, the winner will be able to take the final spot at the GCC 2025 and join the first seeds from those three regions.

The Game Changers Americas LCQ will take place in the Riot Games studio in São Paulo, and it will feature a two-day LAN event between the three teams. It will feature a single round robin stage with all teams playing each other on the first day and the top two will then face each other in a Bo5 to determine the winner and the last team to take part in the GCC.

Last year, the GCC took place in Berlin, Germany, at the Riot Games Arena. The 10 teams ended up competing across 10 days of action, battling for the $500,000 prize pool. In the end, it was Shopify Rebellion who took home the championship, defeating MIBR GC in the grand final. The MVP, Canadian player Ava “florescent” Eugene, became the first GC player to compete in a VCT International League, joining Apeks in VCT EMEA in 2025.

Currently, the GC circuit is playing Stage 1 across the four major regions, with most competitions taking place between February and March. Stage 2 will then kick off around May while Stage 3’s starting date is yet to be confirmed.
