Steam Next Fest is back again, and that means we’re going to be swimming in new demos for some time. With more games coming to Valve’s platform every year, though, it’s getting harder and harder to find exactly what you want. This is a good problem to have, to be clear, but it still means that trying out as many games as possible is more difficult than ever. That’s why I’m here. If you love Diablo, Vampire Survivors, roguelikes, and watching your character get stronger, you need to try the Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos demo.
The easiest way for me to describe Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos is to make two comparisons. On the one hand, it’s got the roguelike elements and endless hordes of Vampire Survivors, with boundless build opportunities and upgrades to find. On the other, it has a gear system immediately reminiscent of Diablo, where you need to equip yourself with as much loot as possible before setting out against horrific demons and other nightmare creatures.
Outside of all that, your goal is simple: ascend the Tower of Babel and cut anything standing in your way to ribbons. To do that, you’ll need to fight through waves upon waves of demonic creatures, collecting loot and upgrading your abilities to get stronger through each run. It’s the classic roguelike gameplay loop, but with elements from many games like Diablo sprinkled in.
The Tower of Babel demo gives you access to the first floor and a variety of loot and skills, but developer Nanoo assures that there’s more to come. “The complete game builds on this foundation with a richer variety of loot, deeper progression systems, and more diverse, challenging content.”
Steam Next Fest is going to be filled with demos, so why not check one out that’s already been doing quite well? The Tower of Babel demo has an 82% positive score from nearly 700 reviews already, so you know you’ll have a good time.
Nanoo has already made Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos’ demo available on Steam ahead of Next Fest, while the full game is simply listed as “coming soon.” You can get involved here.
