In addition, there’s more to enjoy here than just racing, thanks to the new Elimination Duel mode.
How Do You Play Dragon Kart?
This substory and minigame is located in the southwestern corner of the map on the far side of Anaconda Harbor Park. When you approach for the first time, a young employee named Ran will give you the low down on Dragon Kart, the cart-racing sport taking Japan by storm.
Dragon Kart is a simple minigame that only requires a few controls, so you’ll get the hang of things quickly.

- Grab Dragon Rings to recover HP and spend them on prizes after the race.

Duels are unlike regular races since you’ll be in a small, enclosed area outfitted with Gatling Guns and tasked with depleting the other racers’ HP, causing them to crash. The last person standing wins.

How Do You Win At Dragon Kart And Complete The Substories?
Once you finish all three tournaments and three duel matches, you’ll begin The Fastest in Hawaii substory, pitting you against Ran herself, revealing her nickname to be Dragon Girl.
Your final challenge is to defeat Ran in an Elimination Duel to see who’s the fastest in Hawaii. Ran’s duel is a standard race, unlike the previous three matches.
You cannot crash in this duel, or you will automatically lose, so avoid her attacks at all costs.
When you defeat Ran, you’ll unlock the Rising Dragon Kart in the shop. To progress the story, exit the Dragon Kart menu, and you’ll enjoy a celebratory scene where Majima soaks in being the fastest in Hawaii.
Unfortunately, five Robo Michio crash your party and challenge you to an Elimination Duel to prove you’re the strongest in Hawaii. As ‘The Fastest in Hawaii’ substory ends, you gain one more to complete: ‘The Path To Speed’ and one more Duel on your list.
Take on the Robo Michal Army Elimination Duel and come out on top using precise driving and cunning to outwit the robotic drivers. With the Robo Michio Army defeated, you’ll unlock the Legend Wave Kart for purchase in the shop.
When you exit the Dragon Kart menu, a dramatic cutscene shows the evil robots’ downfall, making you the undisputed Dragon Kart champion. When the cutscene ends, you’ll complete ‘The Path To Speed’ substory.
What Rewards Do You Get From Dragon Kart?
With everything completed in the Dragon Kart mini-game, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- The White Tiger Ring (from Ran)
- The Ring Of Blossom (via the silver chest)
- Ran as a crew member (after her duel)
- Robo Michio Mach as a crew member (after their duel)
These races offered loot and crew members worth the time commitment, including a great shooter in Ran and a fantastic tank in Robo Michio Mach.
