Thankfully, to get and install Civ 7 mods, the process is remarkably simple for a game as complex as this. For the purposes of this modding guide and Civ 7 mod installation walkthrough, we will be installing Sukritact’s Simple UI Adjustments mod.
How To Install Civ 7 Mods
Step One: Download Your Mod & Find The Civ 7 Mod Folder
To get Mods for Civilization 7, go to a reputable site that hosts Civ 7 mods – the CivFanatics forums is a particularly good place to find mods made by the Civ community.
Download your mod, then navigate to the download location. Open a separate window to locate your Civ 7 mod folder location.

This is normally located in C://users/
/AppData/Local/FiraxisGames/SidMeier’sCivilizationVII/Mods .
If it’s not here, you may have to find your Civilization VII settings folder elsewhere on your system – the game should automatically create this directory when the game is installed.
Open up the downloaded archive file for your desired mod, then drag and drop the mod folder into the Civ 7 Mods folder. You do not need to extract the sub-items individually, just drag the overall folder within the archive over to the Mods directory.
Wait for the files to extract, then open up Civ 7. If it launches, your mod is probably active and not causing any problems – but it’s best to check and make sure.
Step Three: Ensure Your Mod Is Enabled In The Civ 7 Mod Settings
After you open up Civ 7, go to the “Additional Settings” menu on the main menu screen, then click on the “Mods” tab. In here, you will see any Civ mods that have been properly installed into the Civ 7 Mod folder location (and any DLC content you have installed).
Look for your mod in the list of additional installed content. If the checkbox to the right of the mod listing is checked, your mod should be ready to go.
