Every Sim loves food, especially those with the Grilled Cheese Aspiration. Yet not every Sim has the passion for cooking or the culinary arts in The Sims 2. Those that do can pursue a career chasing the dream of cooking on TV for audiences to enjoy. It all starts at the bottom of the career ladder.

It’s time for your sim to enter the Hall of Fame!

Luckily, we’re here to help you navigate the career track and prepare for your next promotion. Whether you start by washing dishing or played with a toy oven in elementary school, your Sims will be a celebrity chef before they know it–so long as they put in the effort to learn the ropes.

Culinary Career Track

Sims that love to cook should pursue a career in the culinary arts, where they’ll work their way up from scrubbing dishes at night to hosting their own show as a celebrity chef. It’s a long road ahead, but the investment is worth it for the rewards.

Your household will also thank you for the delicious meals.

The Culinary career track is broken up into full-time and part-time work. Below are the available positions and how to get promoted:

  • Adult Culinary Career Track

Adult Sims can take on full-time jobs, which have more hours and better pay. However, the skill requirements are more demanding, and your Sim will need plenty of friends if they’re going to climb up the corporate ladder.

If your sim has kids, it’s a good idea to call a Nanny to watch them and track your schedule.

Below are all the jobs adults can excel in for cooking:

  • Teen And Elder Culinary Career Track

Elder and teen Sims can join in this career too, although their options are limited to only three positions within the track. Teens can get a head start on their future by taking a part-time position and practicing the necessary skills to succeed later.

Elder Sims can use this career to contribute to household funds and fill out their usually empty schedules.

Below are all the jobs teens and elders can excel in for cooking:

Teens must have grades of ‘C’ or higher before they can get a part-time job.

Culinary Career Reward

After staying in the Culinary career long enough to reach level six and become a Prep Cook, your Sim will unlock the Schokolade 890 Chocolate Manufacturing Facility. This machine can be redeemed from the career rewards menu in the same place as your Sim’s inventory, and it allows them to improve their Cooking skill over time.

The difference between this machine and studying from a book is that your Sim can make chocolate candies and sell them.

The price margins are slim, but better than nothing when compared to reading for hours on end. Make use of this machine to max out your Sim’s cooking skill and earn some simoleons on the side.

The animation for this interaction shows your Sim eating some of the candies when falling behind, but it doesn’t actually restore a notable amount of the hunger motive.
