Insomniac Games has been on fire in recent years. Not only have they released three Spider-Man games, but they’ve also launched three story DLCs and a remaster. This level of output is impressive for a AAA studio today—and that’s without even counting Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, a spectacular game in its own right.

If you only care about the Spider-Man games but don’t know where to start, you’re in the right place. The guide below outlines the best order to play all of Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games in.

All Marvel’s Spider-Man Games Made By Insomniac

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018)/Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
    • The City That Never Sleeps – The Heist DLC
    • The City That Never Sleeps – Turf War DLC
    • The City That Never Sleeps – Silver Lining DLC
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

These aren’t the only Spider-Man games you’re ever going to see, though. According to a major leak back in 2023, Insomniac Games is also developing a standalone Venom title alongside a fully-fledged sequel to Spider-Man 2. There is also a Wolverine game due to be released in amongst those games. Of course, plans could change, so take this leak with a grain of salt.

The Best Order To Play All Marvel’s Spider-Man Games

The best order to play all of Marvel’s Spider-Man games is also the simplest—just follow the release order, and you’ll have no trouble understanding the story.

Start with Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and complete all three episodes of The City That Never Sleeps DLC. If you’re playing on PC or PlayStation 5, you’ll need to purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, which features improved visuals and includes all three DLC episodes in one package.

Next, play Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to catch up on the events that take place directly after the final DLC for MArvel’s Spider-Man, before jumping into the latest entry, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Unfortunately, Insomniac has not released any story-related DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as of yet.

After that, all you can do is wait for the next installment in the series, which is likely still a few years away.

Whatever you do, do NOT play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 before Miles Morales. Miles is a key character in the sequel, so understanding his story beforehand is essential.
