Where To Buy Crossbows In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Crossbows are much more powerful than the average bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While they tend to have a slower reload time, they are still very powerful weapons that have their uses depending on the battle and your ideal play style.

While you don’t start the game out with a crossbow, you can start getting them very early in the game as long as you know where to look. The ideal method for getting a crossbow is to buy one, so with some money on hand, here’s where to start looking.

For those looking to make the most of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s early-game, these are the best combat skills to unlock first.

Where To Get A Crossbow In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

You can get a crossbow as early as the first town in the game after the prologue, Troskowitz. While this will require you to have some money first, head to the Carpenter found just over the wooden wall south of the town square during the day. This carpenter sells two crossbows:

  • Old Field Crossbow

    – 66.3 Groschen

  • Old Hunting Crossbow

    – 25.4 Groschen

This Carpenter also sells Crude Bolt
which will need to be equipped in the panel next to your Crossbow in order to load and shoot them. Most mid-size to large towns will have a Carpenter, which will usually sell Crossbows, Bows, Bolts, and Arrows, making them the ideal shop to stop at when it comes to ranged fighting.

Also found very early in the game is the Archery Range just south of Trosky Castle. Here you can enter in the Archery Contest to win Groschen with either a bow or crossbow, along with offering yet another merchant that sells Crossbows.

The Player Standing Over Two Bandits Robbing Someone

The cost of a Crossbow can be a little steep right at the start of the game for those trying to use a Crossbow as their starting weapon. The best way to make money early is to hit the road and hope you run into some bandits. As long as you’re able to beat them, loot their weapons and armor to take it back to town, and sell them all to a Blacksmith, Carpenter, and general Trader.

Aside from that, try to ask around town for simple side quests and complete them for easy money. You can also forge things at the Blacksmith to sell, though this can be a tedious process to repeat constantly. Making money at the beginning of the game can be a slow start but once you have the solid gear you’ll be able to take on the harder quests and the main quest to get the real paydays.
