Money is crucial in The Sims as you need to pay your bills and upgrade your home. The saying goes, money doesn’t grow on trees – unless you have enough aspiration points. Thus, to survive in the world of Sims, you’ll want to get a job.
Sims can choose any career path they want. But, how do you find a job? To answer that question, we’ve created this guide on jobs in The Sims.
How To Get A Job
Jobs can be found through newspapers delivered to you daily, or by using a computer. Every day you’ll get a new job offer through the newspaper, which is left on your front lawn. However, if you’re looking for jobs through a computer, you’ll get an additional three job offers for a total of four job offers per day.
To find the offers, follow these steps:
- In Live Mode, click on a Computer or a Newspaper.
- You’ll get an option called Find a Job and click on it.
- You’ll be given a prompt stating the job and salary you’ll receive each day. Accept it and you’ll be hired.
- If on the computer, you can select look again to see the next offer.
- If you want to accept an earlier offer, just restart the process.
Once you accept a job, a carpool will be sent to you each day, enter it within an hour to go to work and get paid.
Make sure your Sim’s needs are fulfilled each day, or else they will perform badly at work. If you miss two days in a row, you’ll be fired.
How To Get An Agent
If you do not want to take up a regular nine-to-five job, you can pursue an entertainment career. To do so, simply click on a form and click on Find Agent.
If you have a Sim who is already doing a job, you’ll have to leave it in order to sign up with an Agent.
You’ll be given a prompt to sign up with an Agent and visit Studio Town and show off your talents. Make sure to skill up your Sim, so you will impress.
Studio Town will become free after you contact an Agent for the first time. So, you don’t have to spend 50 Simoleons every time you visit.
Once you sign up with an Agent, you cannot do another job. If you take one, you’ll be removed from the star list.
The Agent will communicate with you through prompts and update you about your progress at Studio Town.
Unlike a job that pays for a day’s work, a fame-pursuing Sim would need to get gigs to get paid. Doing things like acting, singing, and modeling will give your Sim money. The higher their star rating is, the more money they earn.
If a Sim doesn’t interact much at Studio Town or show off their skills through busking and performing, they will lose a star rating. Doing so will make it harder for Sims to get paid.
