However, Sanrio has more than 450 characters in its roster, so there are plenty more faces who could be, and deserved to be, added to the game in future DLC or updates. Here’s who we want to see appear in the game the most.

9

Poponen

So Otterly Adorable

Poponen is an adorable otter character who was created by Sanrio in collaboration with Sinanen to encourage the use of more clean energy. He has blue fur, pink blushy cheeks, and a sweet smile on his face.

As Poponen is so passionate about clean energy, he could help set up wind turbines and solar panels on the island to make sure the island runs as clean as it possibly can. When he’s not telling everyone to switch to clean energy, he’d probably be found swimming in the sea or collecting sea shells.

8

Littleforestfellow

Cute As A Button

Littleforestfellow is My Melody’s cousin, and it’s safe to say that cuteness runs in the family. He is a brown and white rabbit who wears a red hood, which was a gift from My Melody. His favourite hobby is collecting buttons.

Similar to how you have to take pictures of Gudetama throughout the island, perhaps you could find collectible buttons while exploring and give them to Littleforestfellow in exchange for rewards you can’t get anywhere else.

7

Marumofubiyori (Moppu)

Always Down To Nap

Marumofubiyori, who goes by the nickname Moppu, is a polar bear cub who is never seen without his favorite fluffy yellow and blue blanket. Though he mostly likes sleeping and lazing around while snuggling his blanket, he’d still be an adorable character to have on the island.

After progressing far enough in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll be able to dye clothes. Here, you can learn how to unlock this customization.

It would be fun to find him sleeping in different places, such as in a hammock on the beach or on a lilypad in the forest, though he likely wouldn’t get up to much other than that.

6

Hummingmint

Such A Dear

A charming fawn with hearts on her fur, nose, and ears, Hummingmint would be a perfect addition to Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Her official Sanrio profile says she loves being around flowers, so she would be right at home on a patch of the island with a flower garden.

She also loves to sing, so you could help her write new songs by showing her pictures you’ve taken of different parts of the island to give her inspiration. Her design is also just one of the cutest Sanrio has ever made, so why wouldn’t we want to become friends with her on the island?

5

Gaopowerroo

Cute And Powerful

Gaopowerroo is one of Sanrio’s more unique characters, as they’re based on a dinosaur. This adorable dino just wants to make everyone happy. You can’t have a better dream than that. His official Sanrio profile says he solves his friends’ problems by roaring “Gao!”, so perhaps he could put that power to use in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

There’s a lot of potential with how Gaopowerroo could use this power across the island. Perhaps a few residents are trying to have a picnic on the beach, but seagulls keep coming to steal their food. Gaopowerroo would know just what to do in this situation.

4

Hanamaruobake

Boo!

Hanamaruobake is a shy little ghost who appears to give you a hanamaru (a symbol used in Japanese schools to indicate excellent work) if you’ve been working hard. They hold a red pencil that’s almost as big as they are, which makes them look extra cute.

As a ghost, Hanamaruobake would fit right in with the Spooky Swamp. While walking around, you might see them floating in and out of the trees. If you’ve worked particularly hard that day, such as completing a certain number of quests, perhaps they could secretly leave a gift in your backpack.

3

Romina

Family Reunion

Romina is Kuromi’s older sister, though she was created by a magical stone when Kuromi wished for a cooler older sibling, which is perhaps why she hasn’t featured in Hello Kitty Island Adventure yet.

Still, the Visitor feature in the game is the perfect way for Romina to appear, regardless of her origins. You could even do a quest with Kuromi where she finds the magic wishing stone, and then Romina unlocks as a Visitor option once you’ve completed the quest with her.

2

Pokopon

Pure Romance

Pokopon is a tanuki (just like Tom Nook in Animal Crossing) who is described by Sanrio as “innocent” and “curious”. He loves writing letters to his girlfriend and composing haiku poems – he sure is a romantic.

It would be adorable if Pokopon Niki and his girlfriend were both in the game, and you were responsible for delivering the letters between them. You could even help Pokopon write up his haikus to send to his girlfriend.

Pururun Kyupi

Pick A Card, Any Card

Most of the characters in Hello Kitty Island Adventure are based on animals, so Pururun Kyupi would be a unique addition. Pururun Kyupi is a water fairy, and according to Sanrio, can only be seen by people with good hearts.

Interestingly, she is a fortune teller, which would be an excellent thing to have on the island. You could ask her for hints about what to do, ask her what your island friends think of you, and much more, similar to Katrina in Animal Crossing.

1

Taraiguma No Landry

Clean And Classical

Taraiguma No Landry (nicknamed Landry) is perhaps the cutest raccoon you’ll ever see. He has an adorable little red nose and a striped tail that he’s very proud of. He loves to sit in his wash tub with his toy duck, Pea.

Landry is quite sophisticated too, as he loves listening to Mozart’s music. As you can craft music players in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, perhaps you could help Landry to build a classical music collection that he can listen to while relaxing in his wash tub.
