X Best Elemental Mastery Scaling Characters

Teyvat is a world filled with magic. Vision-holders and those with mastery over the elements make up a large majority of Genshin Impact‘s roster. For each of these, along with the basic stats of ATK, DEF, and CRIT, there’s another way to increase your damage, that being Elemental Mastery.

Elemental Mastery increases the damage done by triggering reactions. This applies to every character in the game. However, some benefit more than others since certain characters have EM scaling built into their kit, letting them do more with the stat. From perpetually sleepy healers to card game enthusiasts, here are Genshin Impact’s best Elemental Mastery scaling characters.

Kaveh

Bloom Core Healing

Despite being a genius architect, Kaveh ends up unlucky most of the time. Still, being roommates with the Grand Sage himself, it’s clear he’s not your average Joe, possessing a talking suitcase that lets him proc Blooms early.

Upon taking damage from a Bloom core triggered by either himself, a party member, or even an enemy, Kaveh regenerates a portion of his health. This healing is increased based on his Elemental Mastery, synergizing well with the rest of his kit that both increases his EM and benefits from the increased stat.

Sayu

Increased Healing

Whoever said Ninjas have to be alert all the time? Taking a break or three is necessary to grow taller, and Sayu will ensure she naps often enough to get her growth spurt. Sayu is an Anemo healer who rolls around like a Yo-Yo. Despite her fun playstyle, she doesn’t see much play, mainly due to other characters simply doing things better.

Sayu doesn’t get the biggest buff from Elemental Mastery, but it is the most straightforward. Apart from the Swirl DMG increase she gets from going full EM, Sayu also increases her healing based on the stat. Not the most interesting, but certainly helpful.

Yae Miko

Slight Increase To Elemental Skill Damage

Our (and Ei’s) favorite Shrine Priestess’s exorcism isn’t locked to spirits alone, with her off-field Electro damage and hard-hitting Elemental Burst reducing all evildoers to ashes. Yae summons totems that automatically target enemies even when she’s off-field, making her a splendid off-fielder who competes with the likes of Fischl.

While not an integral part of her kit, she does benefit from building some Elemental Mastery. This is due to her Ascension Passive increasing her off-field damage from the Sesshou Sakura she summons based on a tiny percentage of her total EM.

Cyno

Increases All Kinds Of Damage With Elemental Mastery

His jokes may be an acquired taste, but the General Mahamatra of Sumeru is rarely ever unfit for a mission. Strong and agile, Cyno is one of Sumeru’s strongest characters. With a kit revolving around Aggravate and Hyperbloom, one of his most needed stats ends up being Elemental Mastery.

Cyno gains a special state upon using his Elemental Burst, donning giant cloth arms and enhancing his attacks to deal extra damage. This damage scales off his Elemental Mastery due to his Ascension Passive, Authority Over The Nine Bows, granting a huge bonus to his Skill and a smaller one of his Normal Attacks.

Sethos

Charged Shots That Hit Like A Truck

Sethos has one of Genshin Impact’s most interesting and well-crafted kits, giving you two distinct yet fun ways of piloting the character. You can utilize his strong yet fast Charged Attacks by sacrificing Energy or fill up that Energy bar to turn him into an electro-submachine gun.

Sethos’s Charged Attack damage is increased by 700 percent of his Elemental Mastery, making it the game’s highest Elemental Mastery scaling skill.

Both his Charged Attack and Burst playstyles benefit from Elemental Mastery, making it the primary stat you’d be looking forward to when building him.

Kuki Shinobu

Lots Of Healing, Lots Of Blooms

Caretaker of the Aratakki gang and ambassador of all things Hyperbloom, Kuki Shinobu is a healer who reduces her health to heal her teammates. Despite coming before Dendro was ever a thing, it’s clear Kuki was made with the element in mind, down to her having Elemental Mastery scalings.

Shinobu’s passive increases both her damage and healing with how much Elemental Mastery she has built. This is part of the reason why she’s so prevalent in Hyperbloom teams; she doesn’t lose anything from going full EM.

Dendro Traveller

Traveller Becomes A Viable Unit

Dendro Traveller is arguably the best traveler kit released in Genshin Impact, providing tons of Dendro application, as well as other utility abilities to make Dendro MC useful. Their Burst deals decent damage and gain effects based on the element absorbed, and their Skill creates enough Energy to get their Burst back easily.

Apart from these, the Traveller also has a passive that buffs their Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage based on their Elemental Mastery, making them benefit greatly from the stat.

Sucrose

Increases Allies’ Elemental Mastery

Mondstadt’s resident alchemist’s apprentice and part-time Knight of Favonius is one of the characters most Genshin Impact players get early on their accounts. Being a four-star, she’s the easiest way for most players to use Viridescent Venerer, and as such is one of the most popular Genshin characters.

Sucrose has an Ascension Passive that activates upon either her Elemental Skill or her Elemental Burst hitting an opponent. Upon doing so, every single one of Sucrose’s party members gains bonus Elemental Mastery based on Sucrose’s EM.

Tighnari

Clusterbloom Arrows Deal Increased EM Damage

Being the only standard character that has the Dendro element, Tighnari is supposed to be the standard for what a five-star Dendro DPS can do. His powerful Charged Attacks and short rotation times make him a splendid hypercarry, albeit not to the level of other, non-standard characters, such as Alhaitham.

At first glance, none of Tighnari’s skills seem to scale off of Elemental Mastery. However, his passive, Scholarly Blade, increases the damage of the Clusterbloom Arrows manifested from his Charged Attack, as well as his Elemental burst. This increase scales off of Tighnari’s Elemental Mastery and ends up being a greater increase in damage than ATK.

Citlali

Elemental Mastery Based Shields

Releasing alongside the Pyro Archon, Citlali is Genshin Impact’s first shielder that wants Elemental Mastery. Apart from protecting the active character, Citlali also lets you deal more Pyro and Hydro dmg with her passives, making her a superb support for Melt and Freeze teams.

As for her scaling, both her damage and shield scales more from Elemental Mastery than any other stat. This means that, in most scenarios, you should aim for as much Elemental Mastery as you can possible get, provided you have the Energy Recharge to Burst every rotation.

Kaedehara Kazuha

The Biggest Buffs In The Game

Kaedehara Kazuha has long been one of Genshin Impact’s greatest supports, providing tons of utility in the form of grouping and buffing. His personal damage is nothing to scoff at either, with his gusts of winds making up a solid portion of any team’s DPS without needing any field time.

Kazuha doesn’t have his damage scaling directly from EM, but him being an Anemo character makes his Swirls hurt more if you have Elemental Mastery built. However, another aspect of his kit that does directly benefit from going for more EM is his passive that buffs team Elemental DMG. The more Elemental Mastery your Kazuha has, the larger the buff he gives your allies.

Alhaitham

Best Dendro DPS

Alhaitham is one of Genshin Impact’s premier hypercarries, dealing a similar amount of damage as other top tiers like Hu Tao and Neuvillette. The Akademia’s Grand Sage isn’t an easy character to play, though, requiring precise combo inputs and careful management of his passive stacks.

Alhaitham’s Elemental Skill lets him perform coordinated attacks whenever he uses either his Normal, Charged, or Plunged Attack. These coordinated attacks, as well as his Elemental Burst, make up most of his damage and scale off of how much Elemental Master you have built on him.

Nahida

The Canonical God Of Elemental Mastery

With Dendro being the element most closely associated with Elemental Mastery, it’s not surprising the character benefiting the most from the stat is the culmination of all things Dendro, the Sumerian Archon, Nahida. Where other characters have one or two skills benefiting from EM, almost all of Nahida’s skills get bonuses from building the stat.

First, Nahida’s Tri-Karma Purification, the coordinated attack from her Elemental Skill, deals increased damage based on her EM. Nahida also gains CRIT Rate depending on how much of the stat she has, capping at around 30 percent. Lastly, after casting her Elemental Burst, all allies within the radius have their Elemental Mastery increased by a portion of whoever has the most EM in the team.
