Fear Street: Prom Queen Gets First Look
While fans of the Fear Street series are still waiting for an official trailer, Netflix did release four images to wet their appetites. The first photo shows two young girls fleeing from someone in a red parka who appears to be raising his axe and is about to bring it down on the girl closest to the would-be killer. The second picture shows a blood splattered young woman facing off against the same mystery person. There may even be a glint of recognition in her eyes as she hopes to get away from whoever it is.
The third picture shows two girls staring intently at one another. It’s possible that they’re enemies or its possible they are more than friends, but it’s clear they haven’t yet felt the full force of the killer run amok. The fourth image shows the mystery killer looking at a book of prom queen candidates. The book is on a surface that is otherwise covered with various weapons and tools that can be used to bring pain.
According to Fear Street: Prom Queen director and co-writer Matt Palmer, these images give fans their first look at the red-cloaked killer who has a “great sense of style” matched only by their “insatiable taste for killing people in grisly ways.” Palmer has also shared some details about what people can expect in the plot.
“We’re back in Shadyside and the year is 1988,” Palmer said. “With Senior Prom just two days away the race for prom queen is already heating up, but when somebody starts slaughtering the prom queen candidates, all hell is set to break loose. Think classic 80s slasher and all the fun that entails, but with compelling characters, needle drops, dancing and a whole lot more!” What isn’t yet known is just when this new movie is going to hit the streamer. While it’s known it is slotted to launch in 2025, there still hasn’t been a release month hinted at. The pictures hint that perhaps a date is just around the corner.
Fear Street: Prom Queen is due out sometime in 2025.
