The Very First Manga Exhibition in America
Soon, there will be an exhibition that features Japanese artists and their manga works. This exhibition will be the first in the Americas to do so. This exhibition, the Art of Manga, already has a date and a venue.
This exhibition will take place in de Young Museum, a fine art museum located in San Francisco, CA, USA. When it comes to the date, this exhibition will take place between September 27, 2025 and January 25, 2026. So, for any fans interested in seeing this exhibition, there is plenty of time, as it takes place over 4 months.
This exhibition will have works from some of the biggest manga artists in the world, and they are as follows:
- Akatsuka Fujio, his biggest works are as Osomatsu-kun, Himitsu no Akko-chan, and Tensai Bakabon.
- Araki Hirohiko, the creator of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures.
- Chiba Tetsuya, the creator of many mangas, such as Ashita no Joe.
- Gengoroh Tagame, a Japanese artist known for his Yaoi art, one of his works is The Toyed Man.
- Takahashi Rumiko, the biggest woman in the manga industry, who has created famous works such as Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2.
- Tanaami Keiichi, a famous illustrator and graphic designer.
- Taniguchi Jiro, some of whose works include Garōden and The Summit of the Gods.
- Yamashita Kazumi, a mangaka with many works, such as The Life of Genius Professor Yanagizawa and Wonder Boy.
- Yamazaki Mari, a woman with many seinen works. Some of her manga include Sweet Home Chicago and Jakomo Fosukari.
- Yoshinaga Fumi, known for her BL work. Some of her manga include Don’t Say Anymore, Darling and Lovers in the Night.
And of course, all those aside, the biggest mangaka at this exhibition will be none other than Eiichiro Oda, the mangaka of the most-sold manga in the world, One Piece.
Works from Oda will be featured all over this exhibition, and will definitely attract fans of the One Piece series, as well as other manga, such as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures or Inuyasha.
