The Last Knight is a side quest that breathes a bit more life to the Rinascita region of Wuthering Waves. It lacks the grandeur of thee main quest line and largeer exploration quests, but it gives players a glimpse of what life is like outside of Ragunna City, and it’s got a bunch of nice rewards too.
This side quest is a lot simpler compared to something like Where Wind Returns To Celestial Realms in WuWa, but it also takes less time and effort to complete. Here’s a quick walkthrough of The Last Knight for those looking for a reference.

Wuthering Waves: All Nightmare Echoes Locations
Nightmare Echoes can significantly alter the way you build your characters in Wuthering Waves. Here’s how to get them.
Starting The Last Knight Quest
Before you can start this quest, you’ll first need to complete the entirety of Chapter 2, which means finishing the What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing quest. With that said, we strongly recommend finishing the main quest before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked behind the completion of Chapter 2 Act 3.
After you’re done with the questline, head to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven, then look for Cosimo. He should be in front of the first house next to the main road leading out of the town. He should also be marked by a blue quest marker on your map.
The Night Reveries
The Night Reveries are a type of performance dedicated to a knight who slew a giant in Whisperwind Haven. For this quest, players will have to participate in this performance by defeating the Mad Knight (among other things).
The Mad Knight only appears at night. Pass the time to 18:00 to 06:00 the next day, then head to the pool at the center of town. This enemy isn’t particularly special, so just hit it with everything you got until it goes down.
The Last Knight: Mimic Chests
After the Mad Knight fight, head to the tallest tower in town, then fly to where Carlow is as indicated by your quest marker. You’ll notice that he’s unconscious and laying next to a large, purple flower. Touch the flower, and you’ll be teleported to a different instance where you have to find out which chest is a mimic or not.
The first three supply chests are all legit. However, in the next set of chests, only one is real, and the rest are mimics. The one you’re looking for is the second chest in the middle-left. You’ll get a bunch of Astrites and other goodies for opening the right chest, but even after that, you’ll get attacked by the mimics. Fight them off, then move on.

The Nightmare Crownless Echo is an excellent pick for Havoc-based Basic Attack characters in Wuthering Waves. Here’s how to get one.
The Knight’s Trail and The Strange Scent
Once you recover from the purple flower’s influence, you’ll then be asked to visit the second and third spots that the legendary Mad Knight reportedly visited. This part of the quest is all a matter of following quest markers and talking to NPCs.
After you speak with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will alert you of a strange smell coming from somewhere. Follow the quest marker uphill, and you’ll soon encounter a unique Chop Chop with an invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. For this encounter, we recommend equipping a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot, as it can be used to parry the Chop Chop’s attacks and instantly stun it.
After defeating the Chop Chop, Mr. Millkeeper will explain that there was never a legendary knight in Whisperwind Haven. Instead, it was him and other Windmill Keepers who protected people as fake knights. This prompts Carlow to run away in disbelief.
Find Carlow
Teleport or fly back to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in one of the town plazas. You’ll find him being confronted by a pair of knights who are ridiculing him. Instead of cowering, Carlow makes a vow and challenges one of the men to a duel, shedding his romaticized fantasy of the Mad Knight and embraces the true meaning of being a protector.
The quest ends after Carlow requests the duel, and not much else comes after. You’ll receive the usual shower of Union XP, Astrites, and resources for completing this quest, and The Last Knight will get crossed off your list for the Tales of the Isles event.
