Gunnar's CES 2025 Presentation Featured Its Most Advanced Glasses Yet

Since its inception nearly two decades ago, Gunnar has been at the forefront of the eyewear industry, continually pushing the boundaries of what glasses can offer in both form and function. From protecting eyes against the harsh effects of blue light to bringing increased comfort and clarity to screen-driven lifestyles, Gunnar has more than earned its reputation. Through its collaborations with popular franchises like Call of Duty and Fallout, and standout designs that balance style with substance, the brand’s eyewear has become a must-have for gamers and professionals alike.

This year at CES in Las Vegas, Gunnar once again raised the bar with selections currently available and more on the way that continue to deliver the same degree of excellence the brand has long been known for. In response to feedback and trends, Gunnar’s CES 2025 showcase introduced features and designs that broaden its demographic while still remaining true to its goals of style, comfort, and eye health.

Gunnar’s Clear Pro Lens Is an Artist’s Dream Come True

The standout Gunnar product featured at CES this year was undoubtedly the brand’s Clear Pro lens, which is currently available in several different collections — Muir, Humboldt, Pacifica, Palomar, Pismo, and Tahoe. Gunnar’s Clear Pro lens was developed after demand from graphic designers and other creatives who needed the company’s patented lens technology but without a color shift that would inevitably lead to a misinterpretation of the colors on their screens.

As their name suggests, Gunnar’s Clear Pro lenses are completely clear, despite offering the same technology and features as the brand’s other lens variations, including its Signature Amber tint. Gunnar’s Clear Pro lenses are also available for those who need prescription glasses, which ultimately increases their appeal and expands their reach all the more.

Gunnar Is Expanding Its Mineral Glass Selection

In the vein of clear lenses, Gunnar is expanding its mineral glass offerings with the new Purity collection, set to launch this May. Using the same material found in high-end cameras and telescopes, Gunnar’s mineral glass lenses eliminate refraction, rainbow effects, and image distortion, resulting in unmatched visual clarity.

At CES, Gunnar unveiled the debut product in the Purity collection, Tioga, which houses the brand’s popular mineral glass lenses in a lightweight, round acetate and reclaimed wood frame, with German spring hinges for the earpieces. Once the Purity collection launches in May, the Tioga line will be available in Amber and Clear Pro mineral glass at a retail price of around $250.

Gunnar’s New Sun-Shift and Viscer Models Balance Adaptability and Comfort

Some of Gunnar’s more distinct offerings that were on display include the brand’s new Sun-Shift and Viscer models. The Sun-Shift model is a collaboration with Activision and Call of Duty, aptly named the “Call of Duty Ghost Edition,” and it’s currently available for purchase. These glasses come with a military-inspired aviator frame made from premium-engineered polymer and stainless steel to provide a sleek look and maximum durability. While the lenses are Gunnar’s Signature Amber tint, they can transition to a sunglass tint when outdoors in around 15 seconds and then back to Amber after 15 minutes of being inside.

Gunnar’s Viscer model isn’t quite here yet, as the company aims to launch it in March this year. This particular model of glasses resembles ski/snowboard goggles, in that they feature a wide lens designed to prevent dry eyes by restricting air flow. Ultimately, Gunnar sees these as being more appealing to the e-sports crowd, but they nonetheless offer something unique that anyone could benefit from.

Gunnar’s Krista and Pinnacle Collections Offer More Inclusive Looks and Sizes

In response to customer feedback that most of the brand’s glasses cater to men, Gunnar is also launching its new Krista collection this year, which should give those desiring a more feminine look what they’re looking for. The collection as a whole will launch four distinct lines in the next few months, each with its own look and build and only $65.

  • Erika (February 2025): All-metal construction with a cat-eye design
  • Eileen (April 2025): Sleek and straight lines
  • Ingrid (April 2025): Rounded, form-fitting frames
  • Sophia (April 2025): Rose gold temple frame with rounded lenses

Customers have also provided feedback about the fit of most Gunnar glasses, remarking on the fact that they generally feel a bit too tight on larger heads. So, Gunnar is responding in kind with Pinnacle — a king-sized line of glasses aimed at providing a better fit for bigger heads — which is slated for a June 2025 launch.

Gunnar’s Quantum and Luma Collections Blend Style With Substance

Gunnar also showed off part of its Quantum and Luma collections at CES 2025, both of which are some of its more stylish offerings. The Dume sunglasses, as part of the Quantum collection, are inspired by Tony Stark’s glasses from The Avengers and feature gold temples and side shields, incorporating Gunnar’s air-shielding technology into the mix. Dume is available in Gunnar’s Signature Amber, Maximum Protection Amber Max, and Sun tints.

Gunnar’s Freemont and Campbell lines, which are part of the Luma collection, are both on their way this year as well. These glasses feature all-metal frames with an acetate-marbled side and a small vent on the edges. Ultimately, these let wearers get all the benefits of a pair of Gunnar glasses while featuring a rather inconspicuous look.

Overall, Gunnar’s CES 2025 showcase proves even more its commitment to innovation, style, and inclusivity, setting a new standard for the eyewear industry. By addressing consumer needs with products like the Clear Pro and Purity collections, while expanding its appeal through others like the Krista collection, Gunnar continues to show itself an admirable competitor on the market. Whether enhancing visual clarity for creatives, redefining functionality for gamers, or offering designs for underserved demographics, Gunnar proves that it remains not just a pioneer but a leader in the field.
