Best Villages To Raid In The Forest

The Forest is a survival game with its roots firmly in the horror game genre. The player finds themselves trapped on an island following a plane crash. They must explore the island, establish a base, and collect resources to survive.

There are several cannibal villages in the game, and one that is a known spawn point for mutant enemies. Some of these villages are not very useful, with little loot to be had. Others are the only source of special loot and crafting materials. All of them are either a spawn point for enemies, or on a patrol route. This means that there is always some level of danger when exploring these villages on the open world map.

Riverside Village

Small And Almost Empty

The Riverside Village in The Forrest is located in the northern half of the map, over on the east side, where several rivers and lakes form the landscape. This is a pretty small village, although it can spawn quite a few cannibals at times in this survival game.

However, there is almost nothing to loot in this village. This means it is hardly worth visiting. However, it is pretty close to a cave that players will need to explore, and there are some tents that have a little loot just across the river.

Seaside Village

On The Eastern Coast Close To The Sinkhole

Located on the strip of land between the beach and the sinkhole, this village is pretty unremarkable. It consists of a couple of huts and little else. However, it is on a patrol route for cannibals, so it is a little dangerous.

The village is very close to the entrance of the waterfall cave, and there is an entrance that the player can climb down through very close to this village. This is a cave that requires exploration, so it might pay to loot this village on the way into the cave.

Crocodile Hut Village

To find the Crocodile Hut Village, just keep heading due north from the starting location, the plane crash site. This village is located right in the middle of the northern edge of the forest biome. Watch out for the crocodile spawns, as there are quite a few.

This is one of the major cannibal patrol routes, and it is unlikely that a player can get into it and loot it without attracting the attention of at least a couple of cannibals. Added to the crocodile spawns, this makes it a risky village to raid, considering it doesn’t have that much loot.

Center Village

Right In The Middle Of The Map

As the name suggests, the Center Village is in the middle of the map in The Forest. This is a pretty small village, but a dangerous one. This is a spawn location for cannibals, and also a waypoint on many cannibal patrols, so care must be taken when looting this POI.

As a hug for cannibal spawns, this village might be worth missing, as it doesn’t have an awful lot of loot anyway. Players who get stuck close to this village at night should head to the tree hung with effigies on the edge of the village, as no cannibal patrols come close.

Lakeside Village

On The Lake North Of The Sinkhole

Finding the Lakeside Village in The Forest is pretty simple. There is a lake just north of the sinkhole, and the village is on the northern shore of this lake. This is one of the only locations where an old pot can be looted, it also has one of the gun parts.

Taking the path to the north of the village will lead to a cave, and within this cave, the modern axe can be found. Overall, it is well worth looting this village, as it is one of the safer ones, and it is close to a cave that needs to be explored anyway.

Waterfall Village

Located along the edge of the snow biome, at the northern edge of the forest zone, is the waterfall village. It is set in a ravine, which makes it had to locate visually, especially at night. Players who are struggling to find it, can try listening for the gurgling waterfall, then head north from it.

This is a mutant village, and a major spawn point for mutant patrols. However, it is also one of the best POIs to loot in the game, so the risk-reward calculation needs to be considered before attempting to clear it out.

Beach Hut Village

Up in the northwest corner of the map in The Forest, is the beach hut village. This is basically a fishing village, and it consists of a few huts along the beach. A few scary cannibals can spawn here, but it is not a particularly dangerous POI.

Something to keep in mind though, is that the sea along this beach is infested with sharks. In fact, no other location in the game has so many sharks spawning. For players who want to check for loot in the sea, this is an important consideration.

Main Cannibal Village

This is the big one, the main cannibal POI in The Forest. It is pretty large, and is close to the spawn point in this survival horror game. This is a very easy village to find, as the first time the player is killed by cannibals, they wake up hanging in a cave that is underneath this village.

There is plenty to loot in this village. However, it is almost always populated by a handful of cannibals. Even if there are none in the village at first, they will generally turn up a short time late as it is on several patrol routes.
