Summary
- Marazhai can be romanced by dominant or submissive rogue traders.
- Yrliet requires respect and no flirting to start a romance.
- Jae is an easy-going option to romance with lots of flexibility and gift-giving opportunities.
Rogue Trader is an incredible RPG experience that plays heavily similar to the Warhammer 40K tabletop game it is inspired by. With the player taking on the role of the Rogue Trader while they explore the galaxy, they will need the help of various companions if they hope to survive the deadly battles they are likely to face.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – What To Choose At Rykad Minoris
Can’t decide what to do at Rykad Minoris? Here are all the outcomes for this choice in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader.
While every companion has their storyline, five of these available companions can also be pursued romantically to add a further story to the player’s adventure. Players may be curious to know how they can start a romance with each of these companions, and which option is truly the best.
Updated on December 30, 2024, by Megan Smith: The Rogue Trader romance options expanded in the Warhammer 40K game recently as the newest DLC, Void Shadows, added an entirely new companion to the roster that could be romance like a few of the others. This isn’t a short romance either, as Kibellah – the newest companion and romance – has plenty to say both within the Void Shadows DLC and the rest of the main story of the game. This isn’t the only bit of romantic content added, either, as the Rogue Trader romance options also received some extra content with this DLC through sharing a romantic bath, though players can even force their other companions that can’t be romanced into this bath too.

Marazhai
The Bad Boy
- He can be romanced by a male or female Rogue Trader.
- After stopping Marazhai from being attacked on the player’s ship, he will eventually appear in the Rogue Trader’s office to pursue a romance.
- Players must keep to their role (whether dominant or submissive) otherwise Marazhai will break up with them.
Marazhai is not a nice Drukhari. He’s violent, tries to kill the player, and destroys the player’s land. However, some people are really into that. If the Rogue Trader can look past the bright red flags of Marazhai, they are in for a fun romance when they eventually get him on the ship.
Saving his life will make him indebted to the player, which will eventually start an intimate journey that some players will be excited about exploring. It will be down to the player to determine who is the dominant party in that relationship.

Yrliet
Mutual Respect Before Romance
- She can be romanced by a male or female Rogue Trader.
- Players should show Yrliet respect and avoid flirting if they want a chance at romancing. This could take a while.
- Flirting with Yrliet will cause her to not like the player, just be nice to her or don’t expect her to fall in love.
Yrliet is another Xenos, but unlike Marazhai, players may have a harder time trying to romance her. This is because to successfully start a romantic relationship with her, the player must avoid flirting with her at all costs if they hope to gain her trust.

Best One-Handed Melee Weapons In Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader
There are multiple excellent one-handed melee weapons in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, but which one is the best?
Xenos have been seen as exotic creatures to humanity, which has completely put Yrliet off the idea of romance with the Rogue Trader. This can continue to be a theme even when the player has started the romance, as too much intimacy will cause her to leave them. Yrliet is still an interesting option with a thoughtful story about an outcast to her own people whom she only wants to help, as well as giving players a romance that isn’t just intimacy.

Jae
A Very Flirty Option
- She can be romanced by a male or female Rogue Trader.
- Once recruiting Jae, players can ask if she is seeing anyone to put the romance into motion.
- Jae is incredibly easy to romance with few things that can upset her.
Jae is the perfect choice for any player who is looking for a fun-loving woman to be with. She treats the Rogue Trader with respect, but also talks to them incredibly casually, making her the perfect option for any player that doesn’t want to always be on a pedestal.
However, this doesn’t mean players won’t be showering Jae with gifts, as the player can give Jae an entire planet as a romantic gesture that she is sure to approve of. Besides this, Jae is one of the easiest characters to romance as she approves of almost anything and will happily reciprocate the feelings of the player as long as they help her on Footfall.

Kibellah
Breaking The Mould And Starting A Romance
- Kibellah can be romanced by male or female Rogue Traders.
- The romance can be started quickly within the Ritual of Binding errand.
- By treating Kibellah as a person instead of a tool, players will have a great relationship.
Alongside the regular romances in Rogue Trader, DLCs like Void Shadows not only added new features to the game but also an entirely new romance that players can embark on not only in this new DLC but also through the main story of Rogue Trader. Kibellah has quickly established herself as one of Rogue Trader’s best romances as this woman from one of the Death Cults can be shown a new way of life.
With Kibellah entrusting her life to the Rogue Trader, it is up to the player to not only steer the course for the Death Cult she is a part of but also help Kibellah define herself as a person. In this romance, the player introduces Kibellah to the finer things in life, and can even show her the way of morality as there is more to life than killing, and love might be the way to introduce this.
2
Heinrix
A Man With A Secret Past
- He can only be romanced by a female Rogue Trader.
- After the fight against the Aurora, players can make their feelings known by telling Heinrix they are unnerved by him personally.
- Players must choose Dogmatic responses and make Heinrix look good, though he is easy to romance.
While the other romances mentioned in Rogue Trader can be approached by either a male or female Rogue Trader, some romances are locked to specific genders. One of these examples is Heinrix, who is arguably the best romantic partner for a player who has chosen to play a woman.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader – Best Two-Handed Ranged Weapons
Players looking to dish out some serious damage from a distance in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader should consider using these two-handed ranged weapons.
As a member of the Inquisition, players who want to get into Heinrix’s good books will want to press Dogmatic options while he’s in the player’s party. Supporting his actions throughout the game is another way for players to get Heinrix to like them. Besides this, he is very simple to fall in love with, as he adores acts of intimacy and will approve of them whenever chosen.
1
Cassia
An Adorably Romantic Choice
- She can only be romanced by a male Rogue Trader.
- Players can start pursuing a romance with Cassia as soon as she is on the ship, once they have chosen to tell her to talk about herself.
- Being too forward with Cassia will cause her to break up with the player.
Out of all the available romances in Rogue Trader, by far one of the best that is strictly available to male Rogue Traders is the romance between themselves and their prized navigator, Cassia. Although her skills as the ship’s navigator are important to the survival of the player’s entire fleet, a player needs to remember to treat Cassia as a person and not put too much focus on her being a Navigator when trying to romance her.
Romancing Cassia can be rather adorable but also incredibly chaste as she will expect the player to court her properly. This means showering her with gifts whenever possible and not being too forward in intimate actions.
