Nintendo has launched a new limited-time crossover event for Super Mario Run that adds Super Mario Party Jamboree content to the mobile game. Super Mario Run is a mobile endless runner game that was developed by Nintendo, first launching in 2016. While it is an overlooked mainline Super Mario title, it frequently receives updates, usually tied to a recently released Nintendo Switch game.
Super Mario Run has gotten various events over the years that have promoted other Switch games, usually Mario spin-offs. Some of these events were for games like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Princess Peach: Showtime, and earlier in November, a Mario and Luigi: Brothership crossover with Super Mario Run. These themed events give players the chance to get various items and statues based on the characters featured in these titles, along with a boost in the amount of medals earned. The most recent crossover with Super Mario Run gives players the chance to earn new themed content based on Super Mario Party Jamboree.

Super Mario Party Jamboree‘s reception is a lot better than most entries in the franchise. Nintendo and NDCube’s entries have been rather divisive ever since the release of Mario Party 8, with the scores of each title gradually slipping as each new game was released. Super Mario Party Jamboree, while also having a much higher average score than past entries, became the best-rated Mario Party title on OpenCritic. It has also been a rather big hit, being one of the best-selling games of October 2024.
