How To Get Premium Warbonds

The arsenal of weapons in Helldivers 2 is ever-expanding, offering players new ways to deliver democracy throughout the known galaxy. Such weapons are obtained through Warbonds, the game’s take on a battle pass-style content delivery system that also comes with new cosmetics, passive boosters, and other goodies.

Helldivers 2 Dev Talks About the Possibility of Adding Melee Weapons

Helldivers 2 fans have been asking for melee weapons for a long time now, and the developers highlight their stance on the much-awaited inclusion.

The Warbond system is very different from the usual style of battle pass that most games come with, though it’s not terribly difficult to use or understand. If you’re looking to buy the best primary weapons in Helldivers 2, you may have to purchase Premium Warbonds first. Here’s what you need to do to get them.

Updated December 20, 2024 by Marc Santos: The number of Warbonds in Helldivers 2 has been steadily increasing, and not everyone might have the Super Credits needed to purchase all of them. Thankfully, Super Credits are somewhat easy to farm, and for players who have the patience and the dedication to run easy missions for a couple of hours, we’ve added a quick tip to this guide on how to get Super Credits as quickly as possible.

How To Unlock Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2

The only way to gain access to the contents of a Premium Warbond is to buy it first. To do this, you’ll need 1000 Super Credits, which you can purchase using real money or gather while running missions in Helldivers 2. You can occasionally find piles of Super Credits on a mission after you open a crashed supply drone, locked container, or two-man-door bunker. Each pile may give either 10 or 20 Super Credits, though there are very rare occasions where players can get 100 Super Credits from a single pile.

Once you have the required amount of credits, go to the Acquisitions page while on your ship by pressing the button indicated at the top of your screen. Then, select the Warbond you want to unlock, then confirm your purchase by holding down the button on the bottom-right side of the screen.

Warbonds, Explained

Warbonds are content drops containing weapons, cosmetics, and boosters that usually revolve around a certain theme. Helldivers 2’s Cutting Edge Warbond, for example, contains high-tech energy weapons with matching armor sets, while Democratic Detonation features explosive weapons. Previously, new ones were due to arrive on the second Thursday of every month, but Arrowhead has since decided to focus on quality over quantity by releasing Warbonds less frequently.

So far, the game has only one free Warbond and three Premium ones, though it can be argued that all of them are free as long as players are willing to put in the time to collect enough Super Credits. The good thing about Premium Warbonds is that they don’t expire — all of them will be available to everybody at any time, and players don’t need to feel pressured about unlocking their contents within a certain amount of time.

All Warbond items are bought using Medals, which are earned by either completing objectives or collecting boxes of Medals from POIs, similar to how Super Credits can be randomly found.

How to Farm Super Credits

With Helldivers 2 receiving new Warbonds every so often, players may find themselves strapped for Super Credits. For players who don’t want to spend any more money than they have to, Super Credits can be farmed on missions, and thanks to the many improvements and new content that’s been added to the game, farming this currency has become so much easier than when the game first released.

The fastest way to farm Super Credits is to clear a Difficulty 1 mission on a city map. D1 missions are often set in much smaller maps, and if they’re in a city biome, players will have an easier time finding POIs that may contain Super Credits thanks to the grid-like city layouts. Equip a jump pack, find a car, or maybe bring a friend or two, then scour the map for crashed pods and other POIs. Once you think you’ve opened enough, quit out of the mission, then run another one.
