After many requests from fans, Honkai: Star Rail finally added a customizable room for Trailblazer on the Astral Express. Unlike the other crew members’ rooms, this one is spacious enough to fit a lounge, gaming room, bathroom, and more. Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7 also introduces an extension of the Astral Express called the Party Car, where players can access Trailblazer’s room.
The Party Car is essentially the bar area of the Astral Express, which is watched over by a drinksmith robot named Shush. The area is only the third accessible car on the train, along with the main Parlor Car and the cabins where March 7th and Dan Heng’s rooms are. Now that Honkai: Star Rail has shown that it’s possible to expand the Astral Express and add customizable rooms, the future seems exciting for the game’s world building.

Honkai: Star Rail’s Astral Express Can Still Grow
The Astral Express is the home base of Honkai: Star Rail‘s main characters, collectively known as the Nameless, as they travel to different planets aboard the cosmic train. From time to time, other Honkai: Star Rail characters that the crew met during their adventures also drop by to hang out and watch the stars. Longtime HoYoverse fans also longed for the game to add a housing feature, similar to Genshin Impact‘s Serenitea Pot and Honkai Impact 3rd‘s dormitories.
For nearly two years, the activities available on the Astral Express were limited, including the occasional conversations with other characters and accessing the Forgotten Hall. But during the Penacony arc, Honkai: Star Rail made it possible to add a Brother Hanu TV in the hallway of the cabin, which made players excited about the possibility of customization in the future. Fortunately, the game not only delivered a customizable room for Trailblazer, it also expanded the Astral Express with the Party Car.
The Cosmic Home Decor event in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7 gives players the chance to rack up points to unlock rooms, purchase furniture, and decorate spaces with knickknacks. The customization process isn’t as tedious as Genshin Impact‘s cozy life sim-esque Serenitea Pot, and is actually reminiscent of Phaethon’s bedroom in Zenless Zone Zero. However, the sheer size of Trailblazer’s room provides enough immersion for players because they can sleep in the bed, soak in the bathtub, and pet the creatures that are sharing the space with them.
Customizable Areas in Trailblazer’s Room
- Bedroom
- Living Room
- Game Room
- Bathroom
- Display Area
- Entryway
As for the Party Car and other areas of the Astral Express, they remain as regular areas where characters can hang out. The Party Car’s features include a dress-up area for Pom-Pom and Shush’s store at the bar, and players can also find Sunday and Black Swan traveling with the crew to Amphoreus. Now that Honkai: Star Rail has introduced a full-blown customizable room, it might only be a matter of time before it extends the feature to the rest of the Astral Express, especially if more cars open up in future updates.
The Astral Express stands out because it has the potential to keep growing for the duration of Honkai: Star Rail‘s story. As it continues to blaze through the cosmos to help people and discover new worlds, it’s only natural for it to evolve to accommodate more guests and memorabilia from the Nameless’ travels. Perhaps the game could also give fans the opportunity to design their own train car down the line to truly maximize the customization capabilities of the game. Thankfully, Honkai: Star Rail has made it possible to delete past resources to make more space for bigger and better updates.
