Conor McGregor Says He's Agreed to Logan Paul Fight

Summary

  • Conor McGregor agrees to fight Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match in India.
  • McGregor is awaiting Paul’s camp’s response to finalize the fight, potentially in light of his recent legal issues.
  • While Logan Paul’s ring comeback is anticipated, his brother Jake Paul may face Tommy Fury for a rematch.

Famed mixed martial artist, professional boxer, and UFC legend Conor McGregor says he has agreed to fight controversial YouTube personality Logan Paul in a boxing match. The recent announcement, which seems to have caught many online fans off-guard, comes as part of McGregor addressing rumors of a potential bout with a fellow pro UFC fighter, Ilia Topuria.

One of the most well-known names in just about all combat sports, Irishman Conor McGregor has been dealing with the recent fallout following the ruling of a court case he was involved in. McGregor lost a civil rape case in the High Court of Dublin last month, requiring the fighter to pay €248,000 (nearly $260,000) in damages. Despite denying the allegations with the intent of appealing the case, the ruling has led to many brands and companies distancing themselves, including the Hitman series ending its partnership with McGregor, removing all DLC featuring him from sale.

News of the impending boxing match between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul came via a tweet from the former, which first addressed the rumor of him potentially fighting the current UFC featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria. Although McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since 2021 after badly injuring his leg vs Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, he plans on returning to the Octagon in 2025, but is deciding to take on Paul first. After quashing the rumors about a bout with Topuria, McGregor let it be known he is in “preliminary agreements” to face Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match.

Although the fight isn’t yet set in stone, McGregor states that he has agreed to it, with a presumed response from Logan’s camp being awaited for final confirmation. While Paul may be setting up an actual physical fight with Conor McGregor, he’s been in a bit of an online feud with fellow content creator Ludwig. Stemming from Ludwig’s claim that Logan replaced his PRIME beverage with plain water during a YouTuber challenge they both participated in, the two have repeatedly exchanged heated comments towards one another.

Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor

Logan Paul, while experienced in a boxing ring, hasn’t been as active as his brother Jake Paul, who recently defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson in a highly-publicized exhibition match. Logan’s last boxing match took place over a year ago against Dillon Danis, which he won. Prior to that, he fought a retired legend in 2021 by taking on Floyd Mayweather, something his younger brother would later echo. While it seems to have been a while since Logan has stepped foot in a boxing ring, he’s had plenty of experience in the wrestling ring, with Logan Paul competing in the WWE.

In addition to Logan’s likely return to the boxing ring, Jake Paul appears to be on the precipice of another high-profile fight as well. The younger Paul brother may have a rematch with Tommy Fury, with Fury recently posting a video to clear up rumors of him supposedly avoiding such a fight. While stating that there would need to be serious negotiations before moving forward, Fury seems completely open to giving Jake “a second loss.” While either fight has yet to be fully confirmed, the Paul brothers continue to make their mark in boxing.
