Nine Sols: Best Jades, Ranked

Summary

  • Stasis Jade immobilizes enemies, found after Red Tiger Elite: Baichang mini-boss.
  • Steely Jade prevents damage interrupting Talisman detonation, pairs well with other Jades.
  • Quick Dose Jade shortens healing animation, pairs with Medical Jade for faster recovery.

Like any soulslike game, Nine Sols treats players to a merciless combat system. They’ll need to develop the best techniques for taking down a variety of enemies. The Jade system is one of the key components to ensuring players have what it takes to get through the most challenging fights. These helpful equipment items can be found in various locations throughout the map or purchased, making Jin collection essential.

Jades have many different properties and require a certain amount of Computing Power in order for players to equip them. They can aid Yi with utility, defensive, or offensive effects, depending on those selected. Players will need to carefully consider their options as they identify the most powerful Jades, which often come with a significant drawback. Creating the ideal Jade combination is key to ensuring Yi bests his enemies.

9 The Stasis Jade

A Bit Of Breathing Room

  • Obtained after defeating Red Tiger Elite: Baichang mini-boss in Apeman Facility.
  • Briefly immobilizes enemies when the Talisman is attached.
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.

Players will find the Stasis Jade relatively early in the game by defeating the Red Tiger Elite: Baichang mini-boss found in the Apeman Facility. It costs two Computing Power to equip, and offers players some breathing room as they work on their combat techniques.

With the Stasis Jade active, each time Yi attaches the Talisman to an enemy, that enemy will be immobilized for a few seconds. The total time they’re immobilized depends on their strength. The stronger the enemy is, the shorter the immobilization time will be. It’s important to note that stunning the enemy this way will not prevent them from finishing the move they started, so it’s crucial to get out of their way as fast as possible when activating the Talisman.

8 The Steely Jade

Make Those Detonations Count

  • Found in a hackable chest in the Power Reservoir.
  • Prevents damage from stopping a Talisman detonation.
  • Pairs well with Breather Jade or Recovery Jade.
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.

One of the most frustrating aspects of using the Talisman is being interrupted mid-detonation by taking damage from an enemy. Luckily, players can avoid this problem by equipping the Steely Jade. Even with the most powerful strikes from an enemy, players can confidently execute a detonation.

Players looking to farm Jin in Nine Sols should prioritize the following locations.

The only downside to this Jade is that if an enemy does hit Yi while a detonation is in progress, they will still cause Internal Damage. However, as long as players don’t take another hit, this damage will slowly heal over time. Players can find the Steely Jade in a hackable chest inside the Power Reservoir. It pairs well with either the Breather Jade or Recovery Jade to help boost Internal Damage recovery.

7 The Quick Dose Jade

Shorten The Healing Animation

  • Purchased from Chiyou for 1,250 Jin.
  • Shortens healing animation.
  • Pairs well with Medical Jade.
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.

Yi’s healing mechanism is interesting. When he needs to recover, players can direct him to use his Medicinal Pipe. The animation can prove to be a bit slow during the most intense boss fights, making the Quick Dose Jade an important piece of equipment to have.

This Jade shortens the healing animation, allowing Yi to recover more quickly. It can be purchased from Chiyou for 1,250 Jin. To get the most from this Jade, pair it with another recovery Jade, such as the Medical Jade.

6 The Avarice Jade

Rack Up The Jin

  • Obtained after a mini-boss fight in the Greenhouse.
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.
  • Pairs well with Pauper Jade.
  • Increases Jin dropped by defeated enemies.

Farming Jin may be necessary at some point during players’ journeys. Whenever Yi falls to an enemy, that enemy holds all his collected Jin and EXP. It can be a hard loss if players can’t make it back to recover the goods. The Avarice Jade can help them recoup their losses more quickly.

5 The Hedgehog Jade

The Art Of Perfect Parrying

  • Found in the Pavilion with the help of Shuanshuan.
  • Requires 3 Computing Power.
  • Turns precise parries into Internal Damage against enemies.
  • Pairs well with Harness Force Jade.

For players who have perfected the art of parrying, the Hedgehog Jade is a great addition to their arsenal. This Jade turns precise parries into Internal Damage against the enemy. It’s highly effective against lower-ranking enemies and really adds up over time during boss fights.

This Jade takes some work to obtain. It’s found in a chest in the Pavilion, but the player can only reach it after finding two key items. First, they must obtain the Unknown Seed and give it to Shuanshuan. Then, they’ll need to find the GM Fertilizer for him. This will cause a large stalk with platforms to grow in the Pavilion, giving players access to this chest. The Hedgehog Jade goes well with any Jade that promotes perfect parries, including the Harness Force Jade.

4 The Revival Jade

One Revive To Save The Day

  • Obtained from Chiyou as a gift.
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.
  • Revives Yi from death at 25% HP.

When players extend the bridge from the Outer Warehouse to the Factory Great Hall, they’ll meet up with Chiyou, who is thrilled with what they’ve accomplished. As a thank you, Chiyou will gift Yi the Revival Jade. Just in case the player misses this opportunity, they can later purchase this Jade from Chiyou for 2,000 Jin.

The Revival Jade can literally be a lifesaver, as it will revive Yi with 25% health the first time his HP reaches zero. It is important to note that when he is revived, he has 1 HP. The remainder is returned from a distance, leaving him open to attack. So, there is still the potential to fall once more to the enemy’s attacks before restoring that 25% HP. Players can tell this Jade is still active by the symbol over the heart monitor in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

3 The Swift Blade Jade

Increase Triple Slash Speed

  • Boosts Triple Slash move speed at the expense of inflicting Internal Damage on Yi.
  • Pairs well with Breather Jade.
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.
  • Located in a walking chest under the Abandoned Mines root node.

One of Yi’s primary attacks is the Triple Slash move. While effective, it can be time-consuming to execute, especially against fast-moving foes. The Swift Blade Jade will increase the rate at which this move is completed. However, Yi will take Internal Damage for every attack completed. Players can negate this side effect by also equipping the Breather Jade.

The Swift Blade Jade can be obtained underneath the Abandoned Mines root node. Players must defeat a walking chest to receive this item.

2 The Iron Skin Jade

Live To Battle Another Day

  • Obtained from Chiyou for the Legend of the Porky Heroes.
  • Requires 3 Computing Power.
  • Converts some damage received to Internal Damage.
  • Pairs well with Breather Jade, Recovery Jade, and Reciprocation Jade.

The damage system gives players the opportunity to recover, provided they don’t get hit again after sustaining Internal Damage. This is extremely beneficial when facing any boss. The Iron Skin Jade maximizes this benefit by converting roughly half the Direct Damage taken into Internal Damage, giving Yi the potential to recover.

Obtaining this Jade will require a bit of work. First, players must give Shuanshuan all four treasures of the study artifact. Then, they can obtain the latest chapters of the Legend of the Porky Heroes. Upon visiting Chiyou, they’ll learn he’s very interested in getting his hands on this copy and is willing to exchange it for the Iron Skin Jade.

1 The Breather Jade

Internal Damage Recovery

  • Obtained from a chest in the Warehouse (Outer).
  • Requires 2 Computing Power.
  • Changes Internal Damage to HP.
  • Pairs very well with Swift Blade Jade.

The Breather Jade is located in a chest in the Warehouse (Outer). Players will need to battle their way through several enemies very quickly to get to this chest. While Yi’s Internal Damage will heal itself over time so long as he doesn’t take any further damage, this Jade will boost his healing abilities. With every successful slash strike against an enemy, Yi’s Internal Damage will be converted back into HP.
