  • Epic Games partners with Telefonica to pre-install the Epic Games Store on new Android devices for easier access to Fortnite.
  • The partnership will extend to other Epic Games titles like Fall Guys and Rocket League Sideswipe for mobile gaming.
  • Epic Games teases future benefits and third-party game downloads for Telefonica users, enhancing the mobile gaming experience.

Epic Games has signed a new deal that will make it even easier for Fortnite players to access the game on Android devices. Fortnite was launched in 2017, and since then, the battle royale has been available for PC and different consoles. However, the Epic Games title’s relationship with mobile devices is trickier.

Fortnite was removed from the App Store and Google Play Store in 2020 for violations of the store’s terms of use, which resulted in Epic Games suing Apple and Google. Years later, iOS users can download the game from the App Store, as long as they are in one of the European Union countries. For players outside the region, or who own an Android device, the option to play Fortnite is to download the Epic Games Store installer. Now, after a new announcement, the plan is to make it easier for gamers to access the game on mobile.

In the official statement, Epic Games says that the partnership with the company is “just the beginning,” and teases that mobile gamers on Telefonica’s network will get even more benefits in 2025.

Epic Games Store to Come Pre-Installed on New Telefonica Android Devices

This new partnership with Telefonica will not only make it easier for users to access Fortnite but also other Epic Games titles. Specifically, it will be easier to play Fall Guys on mobile devices as well as Rocket League Sideswipe. In addition to the two titles being available for PC and consoles, they have versions for Android and iOS launched in November 2021 (Rocket League Sideswipe) and August 2024 (Fall Guys). Epic Games promises that Telefonica users will be able to “download third-party games” in the future, but did not give further details.

With this new announcement, even more players can enjoy the latest content added to Epic Games titles on Android phones. Fortnite, specifically, continues to keep its community engaged with regular updates, such as the permanent addition of OG mode. Another patch launched Ballistic mode, bringing players a tactical 5v5 shooter that quickly proved as popular as battle royale. After being heavily teased, Fortnite revealed the collaboration with Lionel Messi, bringing new skins based on the legendary soccer star.
