One such Vanguard hero you can play in the game is Hulk. He is incredibly powerful as a hero, but he’s also difficult to master as you’ll have to ensure that the Hulk form is active at all times or his potential will be wasted on the battlefield.

Hulk Overview

Hulk ability display screen in Marvel Rivals.

Hulk is a high-difficulty Vanguard unit who uses his fists to punch down enemies either on the ground or in the sky. The key element of this character is his ability to sustain the Hulk mode when in battle.

Once you select Hulk and enter the fight, you’ll be in the Bruce Banner form and your ultimate ability will be fully charged. If you activate it, you’ll turn into Hulk. Bruce himself doesn’t have much apart from a gun that doesn’t shoot very well and a very weak grenade.

However, Hulk has a lot at his disposal which includes immobilizing enemies, creating a shield for all allies, and using Gamma Burst to inflict damage. While in Hulk form, you also get the Hulk Smash ultimate ability, where you’re empowered and your punches knock off enemies into the sky.

If you die in Hulk form, you’ll drop back down to Bruce Banner. At this state, you can shoot enemies to charge up your Hulk form again. If you die as Bruce Banner, you’re sent back to the base where you’ll respawn with the Hulk form charged up. As Hulk, you’ll have to ensure that you don’t drop to the Bruce form too often or otherwise you won’t be much help for your team.

Tips And Tricks To Play Hulk

Hulk profile overview in Marvel Rivals.

Hulk is an incredibly powerful Vanguard, but his difficulty comes from the ability to manage his form throughout a game. You’ll have to make sure that you never drop to the Bruce Banner form, or it shouldn’t happen more than once in a fight.

The moment you spawn, you can switch to your Hulk form and get directly into the action. Similar to how every other Vanguard is played, make sure you don’t stray too far away from your team where it’ll become impossible to heal you.

If you drop to the Bruce Banner form, its better to shoot the enemy with your weapon and charge up Hulk rather than dying and going back to base. The Hulk charge time isn’t very long, and it’ll be way more efficient if you stick with the team instead of putting them in a 4v5 scenario.

Keep a close look at your health so that you can return to your healer to make sure the Hulk form remains active. Use the Indestructible Guard whenever you are surrounded by enemies and try to activate it closer to your team. This will provide a shield for everyone, and you’ll be able to fight a little longer.

One of the best aspects about Hulk is that he can easily dive into the enemy backline or anyone floating in the sky with his Incredible Leap. If your team has a second Vanguard and if the enemy healers are out of position, jump onto them as you can easily kill them with a few hits.

Additionally, if there’s a hero like Storm or Iron Man who is being a problem for your team, use the Incredible Leap and jump into them. If you land it properly, you’ll be able to knock them down from the sky where both you and your team can finish them off easily.

Finally, use your Radioactive Lockdown on enemies who have a lot of mobility such as Black Panther or Psylocke as the momentary stun can create an opening for your team.

While you’re in Hulk form, the Monster Hulk charges up like a normal ultimate. However, if you drop back to Bruce’s form, that charge isn’t gone. This means, that once you’re back to being Hulk, the Monster Hulk will be at the percentage it was before you dropped to Bruce form.

Tips To Use Hulk’s Ultimate

Monster Hulk abilities overview in Marvel Rivals.

Once you activate Hulk’s ultimate, he is empowered and turns into Monster Hulk with a massive HP boost where he can charge into enemies while launching them in the air with his fists. Ideally, there isn’t a right time to use it as it will always be effective where you cause chaos within the enemy ranks making it hard for them to focus on the objectives.

However, the ultimate has a pretty short duration, which means you’ll have to ensure that you don’t waste it when there are just one or two enemies at an objective. One of the best ways to use it is to dive the enemy backline since with the massive HP boost, you’ll be able to tank through a lot while taking down the enemy healers and DPS units.

When you switch to Monster Hulk, no matter how low you may be as the normal Hulk, your health will be refilled to full along with the HP boost. This means you can also use the Monster Hulk to escape from near-death situations.

Additionally, you can also use the World Breaker ability to smash down any healer or DPS and they will take enough damage for either you or the team to finish them off. Finally, the Gamma Burst in the Monster Hulk state is massively empowered and you should use it to deal devastating damage to enemies who are trying to charge at you or are out of position.

While you are using World Breaker, heals from the enemy are still active. This means, if you jump into a DPS who has a healer to support, they won’t die and your ability will be wasted. This is why you should instead target healers as they are always the key to keeping a team alive.
