Infinity Nikki is a lot of things. It’s a cozy game. It’s beautiful. It’s silly, a bit self-aware, and, of course, fun. It’s also a traditional gacha game in a lot of ways, with its Vital Energy system being one of the main ones that isn’t the gacha banners themselves. Knowing how and when to spend your Vital Energy will ensure you can engage with the endgame and play the game long-term if you’re in the game for the long haul.

Here are the best ways to raise your Mira Level in Infinity Nikki!
You unlock a few ways to spend Vital Energy early on, but other methods will take at least a few days to unlock.
How To Spend Vital Energy
Realm Challenges are where you spend your Vital Energy in Infinity Nikki, primarily on upgrades, progression materials, and the Eureka supplementary gear. If you’re a veteran of gacha games, think of the Realm Challenges as Domains from Genshin or the various Trailblaze Energy challenges in Honkai: Star Rail.
If you’re new to gachas, the main thing to understand is that if you want a steady supply of Blings and materials to craft and upgrade your outfits, you’ll spend a lot of time farming the Realms. Every time you visit a Realm, you spend Vital Energy if you want the rewards.
You’ll eventually have access to five Realm Challenges via the Warp Spires, but you unlock access to them very early.
Here is the full list of Realm Challenges:

How To Get More Vital Energy
You will always only have a maximum of 350 Vital Energy, and as such a precious resource, it is also one of the most limited — and monetized — in the game. There are three ways to get more of it.
- Wait for it to recharge. You regain 1 point of Vital Energy every 5 minutes, meaning it takes a bit over 29 hours to fully refill your Vital Energy. You don’t have to wait that long to use it, of course, but any you spend will set you back that much in recharge time.
- Spend Energy Crystals. Energy Crystals are an exceedingly rare consumable that instantly refunds 80 Vital Energy when used. You only get them from the season pass, one-time progression rewards, and events. You can use as many as you want and overflow the Vital Energy amounts if you use enough. Doing so does not change the timed recharge cap.
- Spend Diamond. If you don’t have any Energy Crystals and don’t want to wait to use Vital Energy again, you can spend 50 Diamond, the in-game limited currency, to instantly get 80 Vital Energy. Unlike Energy Crystals, you’re limited to spending 800 Diamond per day. You can still overflow the amount of Vital Energy you can hold, but not the timed recharge cap.

Best Ways To Spend Vital Energy
Knowing how to spend Vital Energy is half the battle. The other half is when you use it. Unfortunately, there are no consistent hard and fast rules about spending Vital Energy other than to say, “When it’s full, use it.” There’s no way to store Vital Energy for later, so any you would recharge when it’s at its maximum is lost.
There are some best practices about spending Vital Energy as you progress the game and what you should invest more in overall.
- Realm of Escalation: You should be using the Realm of Escalation almost exclusively for much of your playthrough of the main story, at least until chapter 5 or 6. That way, you can build a healthy stock of Blings, Threads of Purity, and Shiny Bubbles. The more you upgrade your outfits and unlock new ones, the more money and resources you’ll need to spend, so having a large, fully-stocked bank of them makes progressing into the later portions of the game easier.
- Realm of Nourishment: Visit the Realm of Nourishment sporadically as you complete story quests, trading in excess materials for Insight, so you don’t need to do a lot of grinding later. However, don’t use up everything, as you never know what another outfit will require as an upgrade material, and grinding for that reason is no fun either.
- Realm of Eureka: There will come a time in your adventure when you’ll be spending a lot of time and Vital Energy in the Realm of Eureka, looking for lower-rarity items to infuse into your better ones and for Eureka with the stats you want. That process is very much an endgame concern, so don’t worry about it too much for your first few dozen hours with the game.
- Realm of the Dark: You should become very familiar with defeating all of Bouldy’s forms, as many outfits and outfit pieces require his materials to upgrade, including one of the Miracle Outfits you’ll unlock by the end of the story campaign. Don’t focus solely on grinding Bouldy at first, but you’ll need to spend plenty of Vital Energy with him eventually.
- Realm of Breakthrough: It’s good practice to do the Realm of Breakthrough whenever it resets weekly, as missing even one reward claim is essentially a full seven days of Evolution material grinding lost. Yes, you can only claim the reward once per week, but the point stands, right?
In short, early on, you should spend most of your time in the Realms of Escalation and Nourishment. As you near the end of the main story, around chapter 6, you can start adding the Dark, and Eureka and Breakthrough should be limited to post-campaign grinding.
