In which we find the true will

There’s a lot to get done, and not every islander will open up to you right away. Athena is a powerful person with sentries guarding the entrance to their tower. You can gain entry, but only if you prove yourself. Here’s everything you need to know to befriend Athena and restore their memories in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island.

How To Unlock Athena

Athena talks about messaging Alex in her tower.

To unlock Athena, you must first max out your friendship with Hermes. Doing so will grant you Hermes’ soulstone, which you can place in the Gaia Cavern.

If you try to approach beforehand, the tower sentries will shoot lasers at you!

Once the stone is placed, Athena will message you about turning off the sentries on the bridge so you can cross over. Head on over and enter the tower to speak with Athena and begin the process of recovering their memories.

Athena Friendship Level One

When you first meet Athena, you’ll have to gain their trust. To do this, Athena gives you a special sapphire lens to translate lore columns across the island. This lens will only translate the columns with the blue gem on top.

When you check the map, the lore columns are listed with the corresponding colors above them!

Below are all the sapphire lore column locations, where to find them, and what stories they unlock in the lore section of your inventory:

Story Name

Location

“Protector of Strangers” Myth

Head towards the ladder on the southwestern beach, near Athena’s tower’s ground entrance.

“Helper of Heroes” Myth

Head inside the temple courtyard, then circle around to the southeast to find this column tucked in a corner.

“Fit for a Queen” Myth

Inside Hephaestus’ workshop.

“The Unloved God” Myth

Down the ramp beside the plots in Ares’ Orchard.

“Three Brothers” Myth

Directly southeast of the portal hub outside the temple.

After you translate each of the columns, return to Athena. The next step is finding their specific mementos, which can help them remember the past they’ve lost.

Below are all the mementos you need to collect and where to find them:

Memento Name

Location

Cartography Tools

In the western section of the temple, just before Aphrodite’s Gardens, you’ll find an exposed corner to the far right on the ledge. Dig here.

Arithmetic Set

From the Cloud Atrium, head down the ramp on the eastern side of the sun lounge. The memento is beneath the barrels.

Apothecary Case

On the southeastern beach, between the staircase and the lightning statue, you can dig up this memento.

Bring everything to Athena to reach level one friendship and restore some of their memories.

Athena Friendship Level Two

To reach the next level with Athena, you’ll have to use the opal lens to decipher all the yellow lore columns. Just like before, they’re marked on your map, this time with a yellow gem above them.

Below are all the opal lore column locations:

Story Name

Location

“Contest of Gifts” Myth

Right in front of your lighthouse, just before the stairs.

“Love and War” Myth

Just before entering Aphrodite’s Gardens from the temple, you’ll find this lore column.

“Opposites Attract” Myth

Inside Aphrodite’s Gardens, beside the portal.

“A Love Lost” Myth

Inside the Gaia Cavern, to the west.

“An Unlikely Friendship” Myth

Inside Ares’ tent.

After you’ve translated everything, it’s time to look for Athena’s lost mementos. Thankfully, there’s only one this time! However, your radar won’t be able to dig it up.

Instead, you can find the Unopened Invitation by talking to Poseidon. Swap 50 ambrosia fruit for it, then give it to Athena to reach friendship level two and get one step closer to maxing out your relationship.

Athena Friendship Level Three

The final steps to max out your relationship with Athena are the same as before. This time, however, you’ll use the ruby lens to translate the remaining red lore columns. You can find them all here:

Story Name

Location

“Let the Games Begin” Myth

On the southeastern beaches, up the ramp past the barrels.

“Release the Cetus” Myth

In Flotsam’s Harbor, to the right of Poseidon’s boat.

“Brains Versus Brawn” Myth

North of the Underworld entrance, opposite the wind turbine.

“Queen’s Justice” Myth

Inside Zeus and Hera’s bedroom.

“Leader of Souls” Myth

In the Underworld, to the left of the ramp leading to Hades’ chambers.

After that, you can find the final set of mementos for Athena. Here’s everything you need to find and where to look:

Memento Name

Location

Anchovy Paste

Beside the Amazon statue with the Golden Bow.

Forget-Me-Nots

On the northeastern beach, in a bag next to the statue with the Golden Shield.

Mandrake Root

Underneath Cerberus’ paw in the Underworld.

Once you give the remaining items to Athena, they’ll reward you with their soulstone as a thank you! You can place this in the Gaia Cavern and get one step closer to solving the island’s mysteries.
