Throughout your journey through the world of Fantasian Neo Dimension, one character in particular may stand out to to you in respect to how disconnected your paths seem to be. That character is Tan and his Spirit Wolf, Galf. Until Act 2, that is.

Fantasian Neo Dimension Challenged Me More Than Any Final Fantasy Game Has In Years
Fantasian Neo Dimension looks set to be a challenge, especially for those of us entirely new to it.
While never directly guided there, traveling to the Falcion Bypath will bring you back in contact with Tan, who seems to be nearing the end of his personal journey. This is your chance to finally learn who he is, and get him in your party. You just have to beat a rather challenging boss first.
Making Your Way Through Falcion Bypath
Every Chest Location
Falcion Bypath is located near the Vibran Royal Capital, reached only by piloting the Uzra. While at the helm, sail southwards. There will be a coast with a cave, but you need to sail just a bit more south until you reach the larger coast. Disembark here and travel north until you finally reach the Falcion Bypath, with a recommended level of 37.
After entering, take a few steps forward and you’ll be locked into a battle with more bandits that are pursuing Tan, and getting a brief bit of his backstory. From here, you’re just navigating the area until you eventually reach the Volcanic cavern. There are some great items hidden here though, so take the time to gather them all.
Here’s every item you can find in the Falcion Bypath:
Item |
Directions |
---|---|
Ether L |
North-west of the entrance, in a corner |
Whetstone x2 |
North-west of the entrance, in a corner and a little south of the last chest |
Order Motes |
Continue until you are near the transition to the next zone, and go east |
Hacker’s Bible |
Just before the rope bridge to the right, find this on the hill directly below. |
Venus Fists |
After climbing down the rope, head to the lowest slope before the next rope bridge to find this chest. |
Order Motes |
By the left corner past the entrance to the Volcanic Cavern. |
Blue Quartz |
Weave around the hill above the Volcanic Cavern to find this in a chest at the very top. |
Again, these are all valuable items, but the Hacker’s Bible, Venus Fists, and Blue Quartz are the most important to get. In order, they are a skill item that unlocks new nodes in the Growth Map, a weapon for Zinikr, and a jewel that prevents your defence against certain elements being reduced.
There is also a Robot you can rescue here, though make sure you’ve entered the Volcanic Cavern to unlock the Warp point first, as you’ll be brought directly to the Secret Base when you interact with the robot.
To The Volcanic Cavern
As you proceed through every area of Falcion Bypath, you’ll be put briefly in control of Tan as he battles his way towards his rival, Blue. Each of these encounters are quite simple, so don’t worry about dying in them. These are each followed by another storybook segment featuring Tan’s backstory.
When in control of the party, you’re trying to catch up with him. The first area of Falcion Bypath is pretty straightforward, so just follow it along directly to the second area. This next area is much larger, and requires a bit more thought to navigate.
Proceed to the highest hill here and cross the rope bridge. With no way to way down the hill here, interact with the dangling rope to have the party climb (quite slowly) down this mountain. Once you’ve hit the bottom, you can cross the next bridge to get within range of the Volcanic Cavern.
The entrance to the Volcanic Cavern has you automatically enter as soon as you approach it, so give it a wide berth if you don’t want to be stuck into another story segment with Tan just yet. Save outside the cave before you start, since the next save point inside isn’t until you reach the boss.
Getting Through The Volcanic Cavern
Compared to the Falcion Bypath outside, the Volcanic Cavern is quite short and linear, with it really just being a prelude to the forthcoming battle. That said, it still have two very valuable items to pick up. These are:
- A Garnet L, which raises you fire defence.
- Secret Arts Scroll, which unlocks more nodes on the Growth Map for certain characters.
With both of these items acquired, all you have to do is head up to the Save Point, heal up, and get ready for the upcoming battle.
How To Defeat Blue And Adolfo
Party Set-Up
Face-to-face with one of the Spirit Animals that saved his life and the man that ruined it, Tan is an essential part of this battle. Therefore, he can’t be removed from the party, nor can he be swapped out in the middle of battle either. Thankfully, the game gives you the option of who to bring into the battle, letting you make your ideal set-up.
This is only to determine the party when the battle begins. Every other party member can still be swapped out at any time. Only Tan must stay in battle at all times.
While it’s worth frequently changing your party as needs must, we started with Leo and Ez for the versatility they offer. Leo in particular is important in this battle. We also had every party member rescued at this point, though we got the most usage out of Prickle and Zinikr.
Here’s what we equipped to each character, and some key skills we unlocked:
Character |
Weapon |
Jewels |
Skills |
---|---|---|---|
Leo |
Nanomic Blade 2.0 |
Ruby L, Emerald L |
Samidare Hits +, Samidare Fire, Rare Item Steal +. |
Ez |
Judgment |
Large Jade |
All Potion L, Quick All. |
Zinikr |
Combo Gloves |
Pearl L, Emerald M |
Counter, Safe Taunt. |
Prickle |
Poisonthrower |
Opal M |
Barrier All, Heal All |
We unfortunately have no control over what Tan equips at this point, so he may be underpowered compared to the rest of your party. Use Prickle or Cheryl whenever necessary to give him some extra healing in case his First Aid skill isn’t quite enough.
Battling Blue And Adolfo
When it comes to the fight itself, it had a decent degree of scripted events going on early on. While your own party members will be able to attack whoever they want, Tan will only attack Blue until his third turn, when Galf attack Adolfo. At this point, Tan is free for you to control completely.
During the first phase of this boss fight, you’ll want to focus all of your attention on Adolfo as Blue will be Guarded during this section. As such, make sure to buff the party with Attack Power Up and Defence Up, as well as Quick All. Have Leo and Zinikr use Helm Bash and Blade Break respectively to weaken Adolfo.
Using Taunt as Zinikr is a good tactic here as it will attract all the attention of Adolfo towards him, who is the only attacker in this phase.
Throughout this first phase, Blue will constantly debuff the party, from slowing you down to reducing your attack and defence. This is hard to defend against, though try to keep yourself boosted with Ez and Zinikr as much as you can.
After you’ve dealt enough damage to Adolfo, Blue will unleash the Spirit Wolf’s full strength. Adolfo will now become much more powerful, capable of using the group-spanning Adolfo Impact move, though Blue will no longer take turns himself. This is an essential part of the battle to pay attention to.
After a full turn occurs, Tan will mention that Blue is too distracted to protect himself, and that now is the perfect time to steal the Stone of Control from him. Do this with Leo, and if you have the Rare Item Steal + acquired, you are basically guaranteed to steal it immediately. If you succeed, Adolfo is defeated regardless of how much HP they have left.
Blue will now start debuffing the party and attacking, though this isn’t a significant challenge provided you debuff him. However, after this HP has been lowered enough, he will use a move called Mystery Potion. This works in a similar way to Tan’s Desperation, in that Blue’s defence is dropped, though his damage increases by an absurd amount. Even on Normal Difficulty, you’ll want a Barrier and Defence Up to protect against this.
He will typically follow up Mystery Potion with Energize to push his attack power even higher, so have a Blade Break at the ready. He also gains the ability to perform two actions in own turn now. He will usually choose to attack twice, but he will sometimes use a debuff first.
He hits extremely hard here, so try to keep on top of healing. If you can, execute a Tension skill here to chop off a bunch of his HP. Cheryl with Attack Power Up and a Double Charge can easily deal over 10,000 damage, especially if Blue has lowered defence.
And that’s it. With Blue defeated, Adolfo is free to rejoin his family, Tan gets his Divine Artefact, and finally joins the party permanently.
