How to Get Loose Fit Attire

The staggering amount of glamour options in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 14 continues to grow with every ounce of new content, and the most popular among them, ironically, tend to be the casual glamours (or “glams” as they’re commonly referred to in-game). For every player that enjoys showing off their most ornate outfits, countless more like to partake in the simpler looks that are easy to style and still make a statement. While some outfit sets are offered on Final Fantasy 14‘s Mog Station store for a modest price, plenty more can be acquired in-game in various ways, be it by emerging victorious in battle or crafting.

One such way is by participating in the game’s PVP scene, which as of Patch 7.1 offers the Loose Fit Attire glamour set as one of its many seasonal rewards. This stylish streetwear is quickly becoming one of the game’s most sought-after looks, but if you want to add it to your glamour dresser you’ll need to prepare for a grind with the game’s PVP mode.

For those attuned to what’s going on at the Wolves’ Den in Final Fantasy 14, the Patch 7.1 update has kicked off PVP Series 7. This means players can start accruing more Trophy Crystals as well as plenty of new loot. You can progress through the series by participating in the game’s PVP modes, which currently include Frontline, Rival Wings, and the increasingly popular Crystalline Conflict. Regardless of whether you win or lose a match in any of these modes, upon completion of that match, you’ll still walk away with a chunk of EXP that counts towards your series progression. Each series is broken down into a sequence of ranks, and Series 7 includes 30 ranks, each requiring a set amount of EXP to unlock it.

You can monitor your progress at any time, even during a match, by going to the ‘Character’ tab on your dashboard. Scroll down to ‘PVP Profile’ near the bottom, which will display your current rank, your PVP actions, Quick Chat options, and more. Select the ‘Series Malmstones’ button at the top right of the menu, which will show the entire Series progression map, as seen above. You can view what each rank provides when unlocked, and at Rank 25 you will find the Loose Fit Attire Coffer, which contains the entire Loose Fit Attire outfit. This means that you need to complete enough PVP matches of your choosing to achieve Rank 25 and obtain the glamour. Recent balance and accessibility changes to PVP have also made the gameplay more manageable, so if you were hesitant to join the scuffle before, now is likely the best time to put on those punching gloves.

The grind to reach that rank will take a substantial amount of time, but it can still be done efficiently by participating in your daily Frontline roulette in the Duty Finder, and then also going into Crystalline Conflict matches. Each match only takes a few minutes at most and the queue time for them is often very short, sometimes even instant. If your team achieves victory, you’ll be rewarded with 900 EXP. If you wind up with a defeat you still get 700 EXP, hardly a loss in hindsight. Also keep the latest changes for combat jobs in PVP in mind, as their feasibility will continue to evolve and fluctuate.

Also, be aware that each PVP Series only lasts for a limited time, similar to a battle pass in other games. Once the next series begins, you can no longer progress through the previous one. However, if you’ve unlocked but not claimed rewards from that previous series, you can still do so for the duration of the current series. Final Fantasy 14’s Series 7 will last until the Patch 7.2 update, so don’t lose your PVP momentum if you want that Loose Fit Attire glamour.
