Every once in a while, Fortnite gives away free V-Bucks. The only viable in-game currency, these are incredibly useful for players who like to buy skins and other cosmetics. Getting any for free is always a good thing, and some gamers are getting 2,000 V-Bucks for free. Here’s why players are getting the currency so you can know if you are eligible.
Fortnite Granting 2,000 free V-Bucks to Falsely Banned Players
According to multiple leakers, Epic Games is giving away 2,000 V-Bucks to any player who was falsely banned at the beginning of Chapter 6. If your account was banned for seemingly no reason to start the new chapter, you will likely get free V-Bucks for it. Epic Games offered up a statement in apology along with the currency.
“We incorrectly took action against your account. We’re sorry and will be granting 2,000 V-Bucks to your account to compensate for the error.” – Epic Games
Eligible players do not need to do anything, as the Bucks will be waiting when you log in.
Unfortunately, the V-Bucks are restricted to only certain players. This is not a widespread giveaway, though it’s hard to disagree with the idea that falsely banned gamers deserve a little bit of compensation.
Epic Games has been cracking down on cheating, especially in competitive mode. They try to prevent any and all cheating in all game modes. They also try to make Fortnite an inclusive game that is safe for everyone. Any violations of the policies can result in bans. These can be permanent or temporary, with the latter lasting up to 30 days.
However, Epic isn’t perfect, and sometimes they misinterpret things. That can result in false bans, and it seems as if there were enough of those to warrant a V-Bucks giveaway just a few days after the Chapter 6 update. For whatever reason you might have been banned, you stand to gain the battle pass, which has awesome cosmetics in it, some skins, or more as a result.
