Disneyland Reveals New Haunted Mansion Queue and Gift Shop

Disneyland Reveals New Haunted Mansion Queue and Gift Shop

Key Takeaways

  • Disneyland has revamped the Haunted Mansion queue, enhancing the guest experience.
  • The new Haunted Mansion gift shop, Madam Leota’s Somewhere Beyond, will offer themed merchandise.

The Disneyland Resort has finally opened its new queue for the Haunted Mansion and offered more details about the upcoming gift shop. The resort has revealed several major changes this fall, with the Haunted Mansion expansion being the latest update offered to Disneyland guests.

The Haunted Mansion is perhaps one of the most popular Disney attractions, featured in domestic and international parks. The Disneyland version is unique, however, as each holiday season it transforms into the Haunted Mansion Holiday and features characters and scenes from the beloved Nightmare Before Christmas film. Earlier this year, it was announced that the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland would be closing for an extended refurbishment that would include expanding the existing queue and adding a gift shop near the exit.

The Disney Parks Blog revealed a detailed look at the new additions and guests can experience it now. The area added Magnolia Park, a connection between Tiana’s Palace and the Haunted Mansion that includes shady trees and places to sit and rest. In addition, the extended queue for the attraction features immersive and stunning details, like a pair of watchful ravens, a garden retreat that seems to be the perfect place for Master Gracey to sit and read a book, Madam Leota’s eccentric garden full of oddities and knick-knacks, and the Mansion Greenhouse, which houses the ghosts of former residents and guests.

Disneyland Haunted Mansion Offers New Immersive Details for Guests

After joining the 999 happy haunts, guests can take home part of the mansion with them when Madam Leota’s Somewhere Beyond gift shop opens later this winter. Merchandise items will include a selection of items themed after and inspired by both the Haunted Mansion and The Nightmare Before Christmas, including clothing, collectibles, decor, accessories, and other souvenirs. Guests can then continue to explore the newly re-imagined New Orleans Square area with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which just opened to the public in November.

When it was first announced that Haunted Mansion would reopen for the 2024 Halloween and Christmas holiday season, it was revealed that the ride would open with a virtual queue reservation system instead of the typical standby line that the ride has offered for decades. For the most part, this was due to the ongoing construction of the new queue line, and the standby queue returned last week with the grand reveal. In addition, the ride is now available on Disney’s new Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservation system.

The new and improved Haunted Mansion is just one of several new experiences the Disneyland Resort has in store for guests. The resort has also promised that over the next few years the Avengers Campus area in Disney California Adventure will expand with the addition of two new attractions and the popular nighttime parade “Paint the Night” is expected to return sometime in 2025. Disneyland seems to be gearing up for its 70th anniversary next year, and it is certain to be a celebration that can’t be missed.
